I rode my Zuma 125 1209 miles through 5 states in 32hrs last year. It was overloaded and got 56 mpg. It was awesome!

@@peterfuentes8133 I ran it wide open with about 50lbs of extra gear and I’m 230lbs. Book says 89mpg and that’s probably right if you weigh 120lbs around town, no gear and going 25 mph max. One hill I maxed out at 22mph with some crazy headwinds. No matter what mileage I get I had a blast and I can’t wait to do it again😃

@@opichocal I'm pushing 240 with clothes on alone, without the extra gear (I'm fat lol). I also live on a highway that connects to I-5, so I may need to look at a more powerful model if I want to drive North and see my family 100 miles away.

This would be a great scooter for that, you could attach a large top box to the back and anything smaller you can fit under the seat. I used it to get and drop off my mail many times. It’s a very handy machine.

I just put 225 miles on my brand new 2023 Zuma 125 and it's great. My 4th Zuma. They are so reliable and quick. I'm still breaking the new one in so that's no fun but the engine will last longer.

I Got a 2013 zuma 125 and i still love it, I ride it every summer, I Whip around town on my scooter and Love it, I save on gas from driving my pick up truck , and I Can still do all of my errands. yeah I Had the yamaha R6, the honda 750, and a few others, but this scooter is way more fun,

I recently looked and sat on the Honda 150 ADV + PCX and Zuma125 for replacement of my 1987 Honda 150 Elite. My scooter is used primarily at the drag strip to get around and I’m on and off the scooter frequently in the days event. With only 4400 miles on the odometer, it’s logged well over 100,000 miles strapped to a race car trailer floor in the 19 yrs I’ve owned it. I purchased the 2023 Zuma 125 in Matt Black. Here’s why. It’s easier/ faster to get on off with the floorboard opening across the center of the scooter. The smaller cc motor works well for 35- 40 mph and under. Same with this scooters limited suspension travel. I love the gnarly look of the front fender and headlight assembly. For me, the limited finished bodywork is less susceptible to damage when loaded/ing in my trailer. The CBS is excellent and negates the need for ABS. This newer model is water cooled 11.2-1 4v engine vs the older 10- 1 air cooled. Paid $4300 + tax and state license fee. If I was mostly street and 55-60 mph highway use, I’d pick the ADV 150. More refined with longer suspension travel (F- 5.1” / R- 4.0”) and larger diameter tires. More powerful engine and ABS. I have just put a down payment on a 2023 125cc Zuma. Been riding a 2018 125 Zuma since I bought it new. Can I expect about the same power? Mine is not water cooled but man it's fast as far as from a stop getting up to about 55 or a little faster I really hope I can get the same performance with the '23 model. I also chose the black. It's going to be delivered about a week from now. I gave them Dunlop street tires to install instead of the stock trail/road tires because I don't ride off-road. I'm going to keep the ones they take off because I don't know how long the street tires will last they are much softer for grip and that way I will have a spare set of tires. Got 11,000 miles on my 2018 and it runs just like the day I bought it. But now it needs tires, brakes and some other maintenance items so instead of spending $500 for service I am getting a new one. I like the new look and I want to see if the liquid cooling makes a difference. Should extend engine life if nothing else.

Iv had it in a pretty heavy rain it did surprisingly well. It comes with a more off road looking tire so it moves the water pretty good. I have not tried it in the snow.

It's fuel injected, no need to warm up. The center stand is helpful in many ways, not for "warming up"...

Yeah that's a huge plus because the cheap scooters always have carburetor problems because of the fuel additives don't burn clean they gunk up the carburetors. My local gas station has non-ethanol gas and I use it even though It's not really necessary with fuel injection.

Just excited that the rear rack is standard now! The value is great for the money! Even then if you are digging the style but want to save a few dollars check out the Lance Cabo 200i, bigger engine and its more affordable!

Yes owned one. Gas tank is smaller. Doest come with a USB port for charging. The warranty is longer tho. 2 years instead of 1. But they both go about the same speed.

i have a '19 and it's awesome. x-tra keys can't be made as the unlock deal issued keys only. i added highway foot rest bars, yammie windscreen, luggage rack and saddle bags. i like the '19 style seat better as 1 can push back easier as needed vs the saddle dip. why the quick resale as like in returns, wrong size, defective, didn't mean to buy.......

Only the left lever operates both breaks the right operates the rear only. It does have abs as well

No problem! Reason for selling was simply to buy a dirt bike. I bought a KLX300R and had to make room in the garage. I originally bought the zuma for my girlfriend, after riding for a season she decided she rather be a passenger. I already have a 2022 Honda grom so I didn’t need another small displacement vehicle. I loved the zuma 125 but it’s in Florida now enjoying its life.

@@wadeonwheels Thanks Wade for answering my question.. Good luck and have fun on your dirt bike.. I have an older 2009 50cc Zuma and love it.. A good shock absorbing ride is super important for me.. My old Zuma is getting old but the ride is nice due to its bigger fatter tires and some nice seat padding. Yamaha redesigned the Zuma 50cc in about 2012.. Thinner tires, less padded seat, suspension not as good.. I felt the whole bike was not as good as my old two stroke 2009 Zuma. I was looking at the 125cc Zuma 2022 and it looks nice but I think you said the suspension was so-so.. I noticed the tires looked a bit skinny. Like a said I have to nice smooth suspension/ride. Maybe I can try to find one and ride it to see if the suspension is good enough for me.. Thanks again for your help.. and best of luck and good health to you..

yes i have tested it, it works but you generally stop pretty quick. so chance of it kicking in are slim ,like i had to go full death grip and almost stoppie for it to release

That's weird. It doesn't mention on the yamaha website, (they only claim Combined rear) nor does it have an ABS light that comes on the dash as every other vehicle with ABS does. @@wadeonwheels

@@KF1 if you look at the front rotor it’s has the ABS device on it, the breaking system is linked, I’m not a fan of that but I do understand why they did it.

@@wadeonwheels Yeah. I heard in a different video that front ring was actually the speed sensor, but you're right it looks exactly like an ABS ring. Hence the confusion. Either way, nice scooter. depending on the hill, big hills you probably wont hit top speed but it has good torque so I'm sure it will power up it.

Well it won’t be sold in vain because I’m buying a dirt bike now. I bought it for my girlfriend and she rode it for a summer and decided she rather be a passenger. I enjoyed it but I have a Grom too. Iv climbed some decent hills with the zuma on and off road. I rode it quite a bit so any questions I can try to answer.

Not that I saw that comes factory but plenty of space to add a gps under the seat and has disk breaks so a rotor lock will work as well

I don't like the combined breaking that they put it, they do that bullshit on a lot of 🛵 I have an 09 that I've ridden since it was brand new have over 8,000 MI and I only use the front brake rarely do you need the rear brake because that 🛵 is so stable if you do use the front & rear brake I bet you from 45mph-0 it stops as fast as a cbr1000rr lol & that's on the 09 model with drum brakes in the rear + a smaller disk in the front 😂 didn't need disc brakes on the rear nor bigger rotors or combine breaking... But if you're a rookie I guess that's 🆒.. my 🛵 still runs totally perfect & I've driven it like a hooligan & no problems at all! + them original big ass lights look retro AF... nice 🛵 enjoy riding it Man

The only issue I have with the gas tank is if you read the specs they always claim it holds 1.6 or 1.7 gallons. I can only fit a gallon in mine.

You’d think Yamaha would list it in the owners manual, it doesn’t and my dealer claims it’s not available on US models but I’ve read articles claiming it does. I know it’s a requirement on European bikes so maybe I’m seeing reviews from across the pond. Thanks for taking time to respond to my question.

Just put a $500 deposit on a 2023 125cc Zuma. I bought some street tires and I am going to have the dealership install them. They are Dunlop street tires and they are directional. I'm keeping the new tires to put on my current Zuma that I will be selling after I take delivery of the 2023 model. This will be my 4th Yamaha Zuma. Had a 2005 50cc, a 2014 125cc a 2018 which is going up for sale once the 2023 is delivered. I put 39,000 miles on it and it runs just like the day I bought it. If you keep up with your oil changes and other services such as air filter and fuel filter etc. The Zuma will last forever. I would love to hear from anyone else who has put high mileage on a Zuma I feel like you could probably get 60-70,000 miles on the 125cc model. They are motorcycle quality not $800 Chinese that lasts 6 months if you are lucky.

thought I was going to buy one of these until I went to the dealer to check one out. OMG they are the Harley Davidsons of the scooter world. HEAVY, quite expensive tanks almost 300 lbs.....for a freaking scooter????? and $5k OTD. I love Yamaha but no thanks. Hey Honda!!!!!!

I don't think so, the automatic kill switch on kickstands is very common its a safety feature so you can not ride with the kickstand down. only reason its an automatic off is because it has no neutral, so its always in gear. you don't notice it on other motorcycles because you typically put the bike it neutral before turning it off. its like saying Ford copied Chevy on their seatbelts.

Why in thd hell did they design the front of it the wag they did? I hatecthd bugeye look. Mine is a 2013. I love thd mod to change it from ghe bugeye, but have yet to buy the mod kit. They should have just designed it just likd that with smaller dim light on top.

I got hit from the back on my 2023 zuma i got M license + motorcycle safety school insurance includes I got hit by rushing driver at red light stop he was truck the first things the scooter got twisted little bit mean any little choc or big choc the scooter chassis easy will got twisted not like cars which have bumpers that absorb shocks motorcycle or scooter forgot it for any chocks even small the chassis got damaged which means that the motorcycle is no longer usable

I got chased by some lady for almost running me over (almost died cause she was in a hurry) & I smashed her window & took off the lady was a tweaker chasing me thru a neighborhood I was out running her on my Zuma she tried so hard to run me over but I was dipping out I had to go thru some half-ass HUGE dip intersection praying there was no cars coming she did the same thing & ripped off her front bumper and then ran it over 😂😂😂 I even had to jump a flat curb that was like 5-6 inches high at like 10-15 mph & the bike didn't even hesitate no cracked rims flat tires or anything! I don't know if that was half of Yamaha build quality or God just helping me in that situation I believe in divine intervention from the BIG MAN upstairs cuz it was unbelievable!

Scooters are more popular in areas where halogen bulbs are still used regularly. Most interest in scooters comes from Middle East and Asian countries. They are the biggest market for low cc bikes/scooters

It's junk. I had a 2012 Zuma 125. It would have been an ok scooter IF it had been carbureted, and IF it would have had 2 valves. But it didn't, and for those reasons and no leg room I got rid of it quickly and replaced it with a carbureted 2 valve SYM HD200, which was a lot faster, a lot roomier, and didn't have the garbage technology of the Zuma 125 (before I got the Zuma 125 I put 36,000 miles on a carbureted 2 valve Vino 125 with no problems at all) But this thing is far worse than that 2012 Zuma 125. First, it is UGLEEEEE. It not only has EFI and 4 valves, but it has ABS and VVT. It is going to be very unreliable, and impossible to work on. I wonder what a valve adjustment costs. And with all that trash on it, it is no faster than a carbureted 2 valve 2008 Vino 125. You couldn't sell me one of these abominations for half price. Does anybody really ride around with the storage compartment empty just so they can put their helmet in there? Combined brake system? Just how bad does this thing get?

I have a 2023 model and love it, I sometimes take mine on long rides to appoints several towns away on back roads with a 50 MPH speed limit, as luck would have, I am retired and never have to be in a hurry and cand take my time getting there and can pull over to the shoulder of the road and let faster vehicles pass me. The technology used in my Zuma is perfect for my every day use, it does not need big bore kits and loud exaust kits to make a bunch of noise to attract cops and I dont need to draw attention to me everywhere I go, I outgrew that crap about 45 years ago. The bike was built to be quiet and slow so I will leave mine the way the factory built it, I dont need to impress anybodt anymore. All in all, the Yamaha Zuma 125 is perfect the way it was made and I love mine and my Wife loves her 2010 model too and yall just need to chill out with bashing a good thing and enjoy the ride, thats what its all about, the wind in your fase and enjoy the freedom a bike gives you......Peace out and keep the rubber side down!

But I wouldn't even consider the 2022 model. Not only is it hideously ugly (IMO) but it has way too much trash technology for me. I now have a carbureted 2006 Vespa GT200, which I bought 6 years ago in almost new condition with 1800 miles on it. So far I am completely satisfied with that.

Are you trolling? 4-stroke with fuel injection is worlds better than a 2 -stroke mosquito buzzing smoke machine. And no, the 2022+ models do Not have ABS, though it would be cool if it did.

You put a rope under your seat if you need to tie something down on the front of that in front of the handlebars you heavy rope you can come down with without damaging your scooter
