仙履蘭 (Paphiopedilum)
仙履蘭造型特殊，花型、花色變化多端，有單花、有多花，有清純的淡色系，亦有華麗感的五彩色系。在英國有Lady’s Slipper Orchid（淑女拖鞋）之稱。
學名：Paphiopedilum，是由paphos（意指在一個賽普勒斯的城市，是愛與美的希臘女神-維納斯的出生地。）與pedilon（鞋子）組合而成，為複莖蘭。
名稱由來：因唇瓣有如鞋履形狀而命名。
原產地：分佈以東南亞為中心，其原生種類約有60多種。
種類：包含有四個屬：(1)芭菲爾鞋蘭屬（Paphiopedilum），原產於亞洲地區。(2)佛拉密鞋蘭屬（Phragmipedium），原產於中南美洲。(3)喜普鞋蘭屬（Cypripedium），原產於北美、日本及歐亞大陸溫帶地區。臺灣高山地區亦為其原產地，其中 formosanum 最為著名，俗稱「奇萊喜普」。(4)西妮鞋蘭屬（Selenipedium），原產於中南美洲。
花期：因品種而異，通常一朵花的壽命可達1～2個月。

Scientific name: Paphiopedilum, which is a combination of paphos (meaning a city in Cyprus, the birthplace of Venus, the Greek goddess of love and beauty.) and pedilon (shoes).
Origin of the name: Named because the lips are shaped like shoes.
Origin: The distribution is centered in Southeast Asia, and there are about 60 kinds of native species.
Species: Contains four genera: (1) Paphiopedilum, native to Asia. (2) Phragmipedium , native to Central and South America. (3) Cypripedium, native to North America, Japan and temperate regions of Eurasia. The alpine region of Taiwan is also its origin, among which formosanum is the most famous, commonly known as "Qi Lai Xi Pu". (4) Selenipedium is native to Central and South America.
Flowering period: Varies depending on the variety, usually the life span of a flower can reach 1-2 months.
