Other then “ because I can”, why did you select an 80# draw bow? Seriously, just always wondered why each person choices are in draw weight. 👍👍
@RAX-OUTDOORS
@RAX-OUTDOORS 10 месяцев назад
Hey there! Awesome question! So, the reason we went for an 80# draw bow is because it gives us that extra oomph needed for the kind of hunting we do. You know, like taking down bigger game and shooting from a bit of a distance. It's all about finding that sweet spot between having enough power for a strong shot and still being able to aim well. So yeah, hope that clears things up a bit!

@@RAX-OUTDOORS reason I asked you is I’ve been bow hunting for over 55 years. I’m 72 now and have taken a bull moose 12 years ago at 40 yards with a 62# bow using and 474-5 grain fixed two blade Magnus. The arrow passed thru and was barely hanging by the vanes on the offside at the shoulder. Not being sarcastic in my question to you but was just curious as your reasoning. GOOD LUCK this year! 👍👍👀

Cool video dude. Longer back bar than front bar? Interesting. I run them opposite. I run 10 in front, 8 in back. What is the reasoning for running the shorter bar in front?
@RAX-OUTDOORS

That’s just how I like my bow set up it feels better/more stable for me.

If I want to run a 6” stab and 8” stab on this bow, would you run the 6 on the front?
@RAX-OUTDOORS
@RAX-OUTDOORS Год назад
@@scottjohnson3788 Yes, I would run the 6 inch Stabilizer off the front and the 8 inch off the back. Honestly, you don't even necessarily need a stabilizer on the front of this bow.

I am currently looking at the same Hoyt bow In 70lb now what’s the life expectancy? Because my current bear bow I’ve had 15 years. And I’m not as familiar with the Hoyt line. And I’ve heard that carbon is about a 6 year bow. And I’m not sure if that’s the aluminum one or not and what’s its life expectancy is. I’d appreciate a comment back. Channel to channel.
@RAX-OUTDOORS
@RAX-OUTDOORS Год назад
As long as you do proper maintenance. You can make a carbon bow last for 15+ years no problem. You will need to replace the strings every 2 to 3 years. Depends on how much you shoot. You may need to change the limbs at some point but the bow will still function as designed. I prefer an aluminum bow because the weight of the actual bow makes the bow hold better.

@@RAX-OUTDOORS I really appreciate it, comment back on this bear assault I have I have shot the teetotal mess out of it. And I’ve never had to change the lambs. Or string on it yet. But it needs strings as you can imagine Lol 😂. And it’s showing it’s wearing tear but the bow still seems pretty. Sound (. And what’s the purpose of changing from factories strings? Are the ones they use no good? And I shoot quite a bit. I put in per session about 150 shots per night. During summer and I shoot all the way till February. Then it goes to about 50 shots. There’s only about a 2 or 3 month break in the year. with minimal shots.
@RAX-OUTDOORS
@RAX-OUTDOORS Год назад
@@Easternandoutward it’s not that the strings that they put on the bow are absolutely garbage it’s that they will twist forever and you will have a hard time getting your peep to settle. Your bow will come out of tune because the strings consistently stretch, even if it’s just a little bit, it’s enough to take your bow out of tune. However, when you spend $150 on a set of strings the quality that you get is much higher and the stretch is going to be next to none.

Why change the stock strings on a brand new bow? Fuse strings are great, makes no sense
@RAX-OUTDOORS
@RAX-OUTDOORS 10 месяцев назад
Totally get where you're coming from! While Fuse strings are awesome, sometimes switching out stock strings on a new bow is about fine-tuning for our specific needs. It's like putting a personal touch on things, you know? But hey, if the stock strings are doing the job great, that's cool too! Thanks for bringing this up!
