I'm 57 years old with a lot of arthritis but I still like to ride. I sold my CRF 450r and went back to 2 strokes and bought a new 2020 Beta 300rr. So much happier now. Bike is so much more controllable and easier to ride, Not to mention more fun. I Use hybrid gummy tires with the tubeliss system and they stick like glue on the street and I can really lay the bike over in the turns now. Street legal and Oil injected so I can just stop at the gas station when exploring different places. What a wonderful bike to have. Can truly go anywhere now. I never ride my KTM 1290 superduke anymore. Highly recommended
Great to hear your Beta 300RR is working so well! Oil injection and Beta engine and carb tuning make for a clean running 2-stroke! I sometimes miss my 2016 KTM Superduke...kind of like a 170hp dirt bike for the street!
The KTM 300 TBI engine has lots of tech to make it run strong that can also make it run poorly. Impressive how well Beta can make a simple carbureted 300 2-stroke run!
Beta Rocks! you're out there on kopchak rd.. T's old place.. Good Ol Zanesville, Ohia. i bet that's the only sunshine you had until the last week of June.
great vid, nice bike and very cool track. 50:1 huh interesting. I have a 2018 300 RE i ran 70:1 for years. I run 40:1 on my YZ castor based but interesting to hear 50;1.
I run what the manufacturer's recommend and Beta says 50:1 for the '23 300 RE and the engine runs very clean over a broad temperature range. KTM/Husky are 60:1 in the 23/24 300 TBI bikes.
Ha! The seat is breaking in and I am getting used to it so not as big of a deal anymore....but then I sit on a Seat Concepts seat and that sure feels a lot better!
@@timothynelson1052 I am so tempted to buy a full Seat Concepts seat....local dealer had a few in they sure felt great in the showroom...went back a few days later and all were sold! Beta needs to put the good foam in the seats at the factory!
That bike is beautiful, does it have the snappy feel of a older 2 stroke? I understand the Beta has less HP then your xc300 TBI but do you think it can at least keep up with it?
The power character between the Beta 300RE and 23 KTM 300 TBI is very different. The Beta has a more full flywheel feel and builds RPM's a little slower while the KTM TBI is very responsive (perhaps too responsive for some riders). I've done back to back rides on a short woods loop with about a 2:40 lap time and the bikes are less than 1-second apart so yes the Beta can hold it's own against the KTM 300...here is the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tjO1qXU6eSY.html Here is a video describing the differences between the 23 Beta 300RE and 23 KTM 300XC... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D4XSo3i54es.html
I put the JD needle on mine with the clip on the second slot down and dropped the main 2 sizes like the kit says for sea level and it feels like the best jetted 2 stroke I'v ever ridden now! Very snappy
That is great to hear! I had the 14/15/16 Beta 300 RE's and they worked great with basically no mods. This 23 Beta 300RE with the updated chassis, short stroke engine, and KYB suspension is exceeding my expectations! Well the seat is not so impressive!
@@peterryan9951 Congratulations on your new 300RE! What an amazing bike - simple 2-stroke tech that works so well! Kind of funny Beta puts such a hard seat on the bike...guess they want us in a proper riding position..standing!
Nice review, how do you own so many new bikes? What would be cool on your channel is some vintage stuff once you start on the older bikes it’s addictive🤪
I like all bikes new and old! The Italians make great everything! LMAO (coming from an Italian of course). Just put the word "Italian" in front of anything and you can charge more money. There's leather,... then there's Italian leather, there's marble... then there's Italian marble, there's sports cars,... then there's Italian sports cars....even Tony Soprano said..."there's glass,... then there's Italian glass" (Murano Glass)
I traded that super cool R3 in on the MT09SP so no longer have it! The front turn signals were a cool blue light as a riding light and turned yellow when the signal turned on...looked really good! If you watch at around the 1 minute mark in the R3 walk around video I turn the lights on and can see it the blue LED running light - sorry no night video... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LoMJboCdMUg.html
hello, Beta RR 300 or Sherco se factory 300, which is more powerful, more aggressive, more brutal, more reliable, faster in the forest on difficult trails and difficult climbs thanks to the people who will answer me!🤝🏻
I have not ridden a recent Sherco 300 Factory 2-stroke. I have ridden a '23 Sherco 250 Factory 2-stroke and the power was very smooth so I can only imagine the Sherco 300 Factory 2-stroke is similar and very smooth - perhaps a tick less aggressive feeling than the Beta 300 Race Edition which is tuned slightly more aggressive than the 300RR. The Sherco ergos feel tighter to me (I am 6'2" tall) compared to the Beta. Both Sherco and Beta have quick steering on the trails. Reliability seems similar though the Sherco has an electronic power valve while the Beta has a mechanical power valve. The Beta 300 RR does come with oil injection. Nice to have choices!
@@AlbertKlanort Only you can answer that question! I owned a 2016 Beta 300 Race Edition and rode 2019 Beta 300RR - very capable and fun bikes with smooth easy to ride power. The 2018 model does not have the counterbalancer on the engine so there will be a little more vibration. The seat is far better on the 2018 Beta compared to the 2023 Beta! Enjoy whatever next motorcycle you buy!
That Beta really is something huh? Is this a public track that no one ever seems to be riding? Man, I say this over and over but you are so fortunate to be able to ride tracks like that uncongested and do whatever you wish! I'm gonna take a stab and say it's your friends back yard! LOL
Beta knows how to make 2-stroke engine run so cleanly with smooth broad power. And yes this is my buddy's place and I am fortunate to have great friends with cool back yards!
@@mxengineer1 I'm wondering why they don't come with KYB. I get the WP AER forks are cheaper and lighter (I believe I read that) but the suspension (along with stiff chassis) is usually the main complaint you hear from KTM owners (I'm not good enough to notice a difference! LOL). Why do you think they stick with WP AER and not go KYB? Too expensive?
@@brutus6328 Pierer Mobility owns KTM/Husqvarna/Gas Gas brands and also owns WP which makes suspension (and other parts) for the motorcycles. Strong business and technology relationship between KTM and WP so seems unlikely that an outside supplier like KYB or Showa will get the motorcycle suspension business. Lots of information about Pierer Mobility here... www.pierermobility.com/en/
I rode the 2020 Beta 300 Race Edition so for me the things that stand out 23 vs 20: Seats still hard, short stroke 300 engine a little softer response at the initial crack of the throttle, similar mid, and stronger up top with longer pull, more progressive yet plusher suspension setting, '23 KYB rear shock is very good and '23 fork setting is much plusher though not mushy.
