Nice job with the comparison. I recently grabbed two 2023 Beta 200 RRs, one for me and one for my kid. Watching how easy the front end comes up from your other comparison on these 300s, even the Beta which is smoother, I am glad I grabbed the 200. We trail ride at a decent pace (all relative probably slow for others), but being 55 and just getting back into trail riding, the 200 is perfect. That 300 power is impressive, and more than I could use at this point, would be easy to get in trouble. I really like fuel injection though, as I was able to ride some friends 22 250 XC-Ws, really love those KTMs. Other plus to the Beta though was it is easy to plate in NY, amazingly. No worries when connecting the trails and having to do a mile or two on the street. Thanks for posting.
Glad you like the channel! The Beta 200 is a great bike with an impressive engine - I had a 2019 Beta 200RR so I can understand why you like yours so much!
Thanks Scott! The new Beta 300 Race Edition is fun! I did the '23 300XC vs the '21 Erzberg last fall - very close in terms of lap times. The KYB setting on the '23 Beta 300 Race Edition is very good with a little better progressive damping compared to the KTM 300 XPLOR forks.
I ended up getting the 24 Ktm 300xcw thinking it was going to be in-between these two bikes. I'm disapointed in the power and wishing I got the Beta or kept my 23 XC 😐
You shaved some time off the KTMs lap from yesterday! I was thinking you would need to get your hands on a 300 XC W, looks like KTM got the gears ratios i correct with semi tight trails with the XC..
Yes I pushed harder on both bikes. Yes I really like the new lower and closer 1st~5th gear ratios on the new '23 300XC and 6th still there for open trails or fireroads. Here is my '21 KTM 300XCW Erzberg back to back with my '23 300XC from earlier this year....close lap times ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lst9xTJSP5c.html
I really appreciate that you say that you're in Ohio so the viewers don't wonder where you are or stuck here in California All we have is freeways and crowded
You hear the rear suspension on the ktm at braking, stamping ? Even cone valve fork and real tyres does not bring the ktm in front. Your driving seems more “clumsy” on the ktm, but that may be misleading just looking at the video
For me the Beta turns into the tight corners better with more precision and less effort up front - feels a bit more responsive. The KTM feels "bigger" and takes a bit more effort in the tight corners. Very close in lap times (less than 1-sec difference) and sometimes the KTM wins and sometimes the Beta wins.
