This is an astounding ale. Drinking like bourbon, small sips and all of the flavors come out. Amazing. Syrupy, fudge, prune. Very strong. Amazing

No argument here... really enjoyed the base this year and agree 100%, this year's release has the most barrel influence of any BCS base in recent memory. Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!

We got some different batches going on for sure. I did not get your batch. Great review guys…I appreciate always watching your reviews on the BCBS/variants. Great beer again this year(not surprised) cheers!

Yeah, we got the higher ABV on the base this year, but a few of our viewers got the 14.1%. We're hoping to find that as well to do a side-by-side comparison. Appreciate your support and hope you enjoy this year's lot as much as we did! Cheers! ~A

It's a good one, brother. I just told Jimmy, as a whiskey guy I think you're gonna love this one! You get more barrel then we've had in a base in a while. And that's just the tip of the iceberg...enter the 2-Year Eagle Rare Stout :). That one's coming real soon! ~A

Its all about that Base. I have at least a 6 pack in the basement from last year. Will have to see if changed much. The base and the ER are the ones I am after 🥃🤘

If you're a fan of the base, don't sleep on the Eagle Rare this year. It's a bit pricey, but it's definitely a bourbon drinkers stout. Like the base on steroids...a great pour. That said, the base 100% did not disappoint this year! Cheers David ~A

I agree, this was the best base in years. My rankings from Prop Day: Prop, Base, Angels, Eagle Rare, Bananas and Backyard. All were amazing except Backyard had a weird aftertaste to me. Cheers!

Great job on your rankings... we have a best of coming out very soon, and we see some similarities in our scores! Strange, you got a weird aftertaste on the Backyard because neither of us got that. It makes me wonder if you just happened to get an off-bottle. Either way, I agree that this was a stellar year for BCS, and I hope this type of quality and consistency continues. Cheers! ~A

I was able to get one early, and I really enjoyed it. I think it will be beautifully, but I don’t think it was as good a some of the earlier offerings like the 2018 and 2017. I think this year is,on par with last year’s base, which I loved. Great work guys, cheers.

I’m not traditionally a beer guy so I have a question about this. Do you drink this cold out of the refrigerator or at room temperature? Cheers!🥃

Hey Davin, we never refrigerate our barrel-aged stouts and cellar them around 60 degrees and that is the temp we open them at. As the beer warms, all the aromas and flavors all come out. When it's cold, those aromas and favors are muted. Cheers!

It's up there, believe it or not... gotta compare the two, but this one has a bit more chocolate and barrel notes than the 17, and the 17 is my favorite one since the 2010! So yeah, it's good!
