I own a shop working on passenger cars and it’s so crazy to watch this process again and again on these large trucks. And that that’s actually the procedure for them. I just imagine bending a little Corolla all over the place instead of doing a regular alignment 😂

Great film again 👍👍 Interesting to see someone else thinks like me, repairing damaged refuse trucks, I used to pull jack or twist stuff past where I wanted it then beat on it to ‘set’ it, letting off the pressure after stuff usually stayed where I wanted. Keep it up 👍👍
Seen a few shorts. This is my first full length video. Cool stuff. Your job has both precision and you get to beat things with a hammer. The one frame I helped straighten involved a wheel loader at one corner and a track hoe at the other. Compared to your setup it was more 2 monkeys and a football kind of thing.
Always awesome to watch. This truck.... Will you ever see the frame relax back to the shocked position after say... 3-4 weeks of driving as opposed to the 10-15 minutes while around your shop ???
Please explain why it seems that truckers removes this DPF and says it fell off? lol. I'm a car mechanic and one thing i can possibly related is that my catalytic converter fell off because i don't want it to get stolen lol...
@@YAHYEL-ANUNNAKI It's a joke. He removed it on purpose. DPF are notorious for being extremely expensive to maintain while providing no benefit for the individual trucker. However it's also illegal to remove, so if it "fell off" maybe the police would let you go.

Seeing someone who knows their craft is so much fun, and I love watching you work. I spent my youth in a front-end shop, so I know it isn't easy or low-skill work. Hell, I class alignment and frames as art. Maybe voodoo, but who cares if it is a witch doctor when it saves you from dying. I hope you make it to your goal! Just ignore it, though and shoot for 500k

Don’t put yourself down! You stuck to learning a valuable skilled trade. Beside the actual repair, something about metallurgy needs to be known, so that the frame will conform to the desires shape after the bending process. Congratulations on the success of the channel.

I'm curious how much of the "rebound" is do to cross members and what not having shifted in the "incident" vs the metal actually being bent. way back in another lifetime I used to have to straighten parts in the machine shop before assembly, much smaller stuff, but you could "feel" when the springiness ended and the metal started to form, you could even set an indicator on it, pull until you felt it stay at a certain tension, then just pull some more until you moved it as far as it was bent, most times it only took one try...anyhow with yer pressure gauges on the rams, I'm wondering if you can watch it, once the pressure levels off, you can just measure the deflection and see exactly how much you've bent it? (hope this makes some sense... if it works for you, it should be fairly predictable?)
