At RM99k for the base variant, the BYD Dolphin isn’t exactly cheap, but it’s value is sky high in terms of the sheer on-paper specs it presents relative to other EVs sold here so far. After experiencing it in China a few months ago, Adam takes it for a spin again to see if the hype holds up.
It’s a sink or swim car in many ways, a litmus test to see if Malaysians will really get onboard with EV adoption. Just ignoring that odd name for a while is long enough to make anyone see how much the Dolphin brings to the table.
Despite clearly focused as a city car, it’s got the big battery and enough range to keep the anxiety away, and is plenty plush inside despite being an labelled as a ‘My First EV’ contender.

What about rear passengers comfort in sunny day ? There's big panoramic roof but no rear AC vent.
