The 5th round of the Lifetime GP stops in Cable, Wi for the 40th edition of the Chequamegon 40. A 40 mile point to point mtb race that starts in Hayward, Wi and takes xc ski trail and single track to Cable, Wi.
We got some rain the day before so there was a big ? on what the course was going to be like especially after last years mud fest.
I opted to put drop bars on my Kona Hei Hei and tried to hide in the group as much as possible.
The race was fast from the gun and super tactical with positioning being very important all day. I got gapped over the top of fire tower climb, clawed my way back on then got popped for good soloing in for 23.
