The R32 is pretty much everyone who played Gran Turismo. Give yourself a billion horsepower and smoke the opposition. He just forgot to turn off vehicle damage.
Never knew this kinda racing series existed, its awesome damn. So much variety/classes. A fucking overpowered r32 fighting with a high downforce mustang race car, absolutely awesome
@KokanhH - I agree. America 🇺🇸 here. Yes; we definitely don’t have that in the states; but it’s I’m surprised how the mustang is able to catch up on the turns but, as soon as there’s a straight? The R32 is gone…. Crazy; I’ve never seen an R32 in action.
@@ralphlazio505 everything here in the USA has to look the same, such as the same car for every team, makes it boring to watch after a few laps imo. this Australian battle of the beast is so entertaining.
That R32 is an absolute monster, but serious respect to Taunton and his Mustang for being able to pull so hard over the top of the mountain and claw that gap back so fast
It's allowed to compete in the sports sedan series, but not at Bathurst, because the front aero isn't working properly across mountain straight, its lifting the front wheels off the ground for over 100m. So MA have said the car can compete in it's current form, just not at Bathurst. If he can find a way to get better front end downforce, it will be allowed at Bathurst again.
Is it wrong that I'm wishing we had a racing series like this in my native Canada? This is amazing, 1100-horsepower R32 Skyline against a MARC Mustang against other tube-frame cars, ex-V8 Supercars racers, Evos, Commodores and Falcons, a crazy Fiat 124....amazing stuff 😀👍
Man that Mustang is a gorgeous build, looks so planted on the road and so sharp, doing exactly what the driver wants it to, like a finely crafted tool. And then you have the R32 hahaha. The way he just got up and left after the first corner blew my mind! I am insanely impressed he kept him behind as long as he did, driving that R32 vs the mustang must like riding a buffalo with warpdrive up and down a narrow mountain path while being chased by a robot.
Imagine if the stang had the same Power as the R32, that R32 has been allowed to be boosted and be 400+ HP (1100+ HP total) over everyone else. Don't know why but they did allow it to compete.
@@youngrody2386 you realise having advantages and disadvantages is what makes great racing right? you- "every1 shud haf dah same powa az da slowa carz in the pak"
is that right??? absolute beast the RB 34 skyline BLA BLA BLA,, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lK96hLWIUbE.html how would it go against this race car mustang 😂😂😂😂 it'll be lapped aswell
@@neversettle7666 Yeah, probably because GTR is just not practical anymore financially lol You can buy a used imported gts for like 8 grand second hand, GTR will cost you 80 grand nowadays, 40 for a lemon. They would LOVE GTR trust me lol
its beacuse that R32 has almost no downforce on the hill whilst the mustang had (like a GT3 car) thats what makes the difference. GT3 can take the whole uphill section from T3-T4 flatout up untill MacPhillamy park
@@VaunShiz It's not actually a Mustang, it's a MARC II tube frame silhouette car with an unlicensed Mustang lookalike body. Tube frame chassis is built by PACE Innovations who also do the Gen3 Supercars tube frame chassis.
This is like watching a race from real life Forza Horizon . All makes and models and skillsets mashed together on a track doesn’t suit one persons style or build ability. Fantastic 👌🏼 . Definitely will watch more of this if it comes my way 😁
man o man, these races/cars make our Yank SVRA vintage races here in the states look like a group of children in their Santa provided battery powered plastic mini Mustangs looking for a crowd to hit. lol.... SO much more entertaining here. Thank you ! 😎👍
Man, shame to see the R32 hit the wall, but that's the beauty of racing. Sometimes shit goes wrong! I'm sure it'll be fixed and back faster than ever soon.
What a fun series, Sherriff's GTR is brutal in a straight line, Shiels run through the field was amazing and the different makes and models took me back to the 70's and 80's Bathurst 1000's that I would watch as a kid. The series deserves more airtime.
U talkn bout back when the skyline with its awd, turbo and its active tech was winning races against rwd NA cars? Yep 100% fair playing, nothing suss here
@@nuztuz903 who cares makes it interesting being bale to see all the different cars multiple times except for 20 of the same car on the grid like old v8 supercars was when they changed the rules to limit it to the falcons and commodores
Best Bathurst racing I have seen for years, I really like it with all the different manufactures racing just like it was in the main race years ago, awesome.
@@ejune98 on tracks with long straights. The GTR has the advantage. On sample tracks with more corners than straight, the GTR is at a disadvantage. Making it slow. It’s how the game goes.
Ahh, David vs Godzilla battles, rotaries screaming, different shapes and sounds and who knew, exciting racing! So much more entertaining than all the other cookie cutter formulas where everyone is within a 100th of second of each other all around the track for the whole race with hardly any opportunity to pass.
The problem with circuit racing is, you can have all the power in the world and be the quickest in a straight line, but circuits have corners and if you're focused in high speed then you're also focused in heavy braking which means you have to slow down sooner and your cornering speed is massively affected by this. The rule commonly applies, slow in fast out, but in some corners where you're mid speed fast out or fast in fast out, the R32 has major understeer in that field due to being so powerful. That guy was getting 3s splits on the Mustang, but the Mustang was catching him every lap at the Elbow because he had to take it so carefully through the top of the mountain. Needless to say, unless the Mustang caught him in the first few corners of the Mountain, the R32 would've won that race purely due to the massive advantage it had on Conrod straight.
wow your awesome, let me know what car you was driving being such an expert? dont talk at all about the others and advantages they have aka space frames etc.
Didn’t seem hitting them apexes and cornering as quickly and safely as he could of. But the guys got some balls to drive a car with that much power 300kmh plus. Very entertaining.
that crash just shows how unsettled and unstable the car really is in high speed high aero corners. such a shame about that but i hope he makes some improvements to front end stability as he's going to be running at some tracks that have really high aero efficiency. all i can say is good luck and well done on achieving those straight line speeds.
@@dunnock343 He's loosing grip and traction when the wheels come off the ground like that, the chassis is just not able to handle it he needs more downforce I think just going to sacrifice some power and speed for better stability. I don't even know why he's allowed to race it in Bathurst with such a power advantage
A classic why tire saving and it's importance, not just horsepurse. With great power, comes with a great responsibility. On r32, Horsepurse doesn't really matter if u lose ur grip halfway, seeing it dancing on entry corners, it will lose corners eventually. Mustang was tuned enough to last the laps and kept the power to compensate saving grips or keeping it cool to last the round.
Some great video footage here, well done to those involved. Sherriff is rebuilding his car for more racing but I guess that it will be handicapped power wise.
BTW for anyone wondering 111, scott Cameron's car is a VS commodore, thought it was and went through an hour of searching to find it 100% is 👍. Like if you also went through this lol
Thanks pal! I went through the same struggle! Nsx? - nah Vn?- nah Maloo converted to sedan? - nah Vs? Yes I think about this car nightly It makes me so naughties in my pants I can’t wait to find the man and give him some of my seed to show him how much I appreciate the holden community
MY GOD.. a 30yr+ old car nowhere near as purpose-built as the rest of the field just using it's RAW POWER.. i dont care what anybody says - R32 is the best skyline nissan ever made and this just proves how legendary it STILL is..
was at the track during this race, unfortunately i was at the campsite charging my phone while this was on 🤣 caught everything else but was mainly there for the 12 hour so didnt pay much attention to combined sedans
Skyline is a modified street car racing against full blown racecars built around a tubeframe. Skyline weighs way more than the racecars and makes up the overall disadvantage with enormous horsepower.
@@Jrob992 Well put 😁 A car that makes me laugh out loud rocketing these straights is pure joy to me. And it gives exciting competition with the different concepts 👍🏼
If RWD GT-S caused so much havoc you could only imagine if it was a GTR, it would be early 90s all over again (Calsonic went on like 9 championship win streak undefeated)
Th Nissan Patrol GTR was NOT a touring car but an obese big fat pig with mega power. More suited for off roading. As for Bathurst some Kiwi driver caused a race stoppage by crashing,, under yellows, TWICE then wonders why he was booed.
Now all we need is Supercars Australia to allow similar engines into their series as Brad Sheriffs GTR. Maybe allow 3L turbo 6, Mazda R26 Turbo and 5L V8 Supercharged. All allowed to rev to 10000 rpm and boost to be theoretical swept volume starting at 2 Bar for the Rotary and V8 and 3.5 Bar for the 3L inline 6. Thats what fans want! Just look at the interest this GTR has garnished!
That R32 is insane, the rest of the field should develop their cars to get more competitive (the way racing used to be)! Rather than punish the R32 for building an incredible machine
The races on Friday weren't broadcast, Friday was for trackside media only to get footage. However you can find some more info on it from callanrs2000's channel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a-eYQlkMXrc.html
It would have been hilarious to be the fly on the wall at club Cronyism & Nepotism the night after the race watching sooks cry into their shandy's and pretzels over Brad Sheriff's Skywhine. They probably voted to "Have him Keelhauled across Bass Straight, post-haste"
lol it killed itself, also its around 5 seconds a lap slower than the v8 supercars. In a season this car would not finish top 10 overall, also it needs 1100 horsepower to be 20kmph quicker than a 620 horsepower v8 supercar... Can you imagine a v8 supercar with 1100 horsepower. This car does what it does what it does due to have double or more horsepower than they field, their are 2000hp 5L that would smash this car, but hey dont let the truth get in the way of a good story
