Nice. I believe a viewer from India was looking to buy that same model or something similar, however they were comparing it to a Fat Boy. Sweet deal man. Gotta have bags on it. How are you liking it so far?
There can be little doubt that these are two aesthetically beautiful bikes. The problem is that they are completely unaffordable for most Americans. HD is very much like the big car manufacturers in that the products they provide are visually appealing (e.g., large trucks), but are grossly exorbitant and beyond the reach of most consumers. The big car makers are finally starting to realize this, and are beginning to drop their prices (albeit barely!). Is it any wonder why HD’s customer base is largely limited to older Americans who can afford it and not younger ones. The Boomers are dwindling and dying off. Massive numbers of young Americans cannot afford a mortgage, so how likely is it that they will purchase a bike with a starting cost of 21,000 to 26,000 to 45,000 not to mention all the additional parts and customization that most people buy? HD is pricing themselves out of business. Yet they continue to deny it and provide endless excuses and rationalizations for why they must charge their customers exorbitantly high rates for their motorcycles. They will realize what piss-poor decisions they’ve made only when it’s too late.
Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I would have to agree. You make solid points which definitely ring true for I believe all of North America. Personally I can't afford one of these new bikes or even a used Fat Bob for that matter. And when you take into consideration insurance cost it's rather hefty. The only thing I can justify having the bike for is to save on fuel cost.
