Guy drops his Harley with his wife on the back trying to turn around on Main St. They seemed fine as I drove by haha. Another quick morning ride around 11am on Day 4.
Most definately. It's not if you put it down, it is when you put it down. Not one person riding, at least with any years on em can say they never put one down. As soon as you say that you are going down!!
Took an advanced rider class. 12 people, including 1 motorcycle cop, 7 instructors. 7 drops over the weekend. I had one. One guy had 2 AND dropped his bike into another persons bike.
Great video John thank you. I'm 59 now and waiting on Amazon for my new spinal column. No joke staying fit is key. Drugs only get you so far and mask the symptoms. Exercise really does matter. Thanks for the great tip. Lower back and neck are my problems. Keep up the amazing content. And thanks again.
I can confirm... did exactly that pulling in the the parking lot at Thrashin Supply in Canoga Park, CA at their shop on my Sport Glide. First time down with a slow to no speed drop on the mustache bar, I just set it down, clutch in, motor running. Not if, but when will it happen to you.
Thanks for sharing. Brings back a lot of memories from 2010 when I was living in Daytona. Rode these same streets every day for almost a year before moving back home. Haven't been back to bike week since. Life gets in the way sometimes.
Hell's Bell's, I dumped mine in my own garage. Thought the kick stand was all the way down, but wasn't. Life happens. I hope nothing hurt but his pride.
Hell's Bell's is right lol. Back in 2016 I bought a brand new 16 sgs , within the first week I backed up to a curb and thought I put the stand down all the way but didn't and down she went. Didn't hurt the bike just my pride. Thank God my wife wasn't with me at the time. I'm not afraid to admit it either. Ride safe brother !
I've done the same with my wife in the bike. Parked my bike, thought the kickstand was down and before I knew it she was down (not talking about the bike)
Did it at the gas station because I wasn’t paying attention. Too busy talking to a young lady. Luckily she was on other side of pump and I got bike backup before she noticed.
must admit that I was watching more to see what he picked up first 👍. we have all dropped a bike, but to do it in front of a bike week crowd hopefully no damage. and the wife is ok. ❤
I had a pair of ripped jeans get caught and hung up in my shifter one time. I was riding down the road trying to unloop it or rip it off, but neither happened. When I finally stopped I tried to “unhook” myself, lost my balance and over I went haha. I’ve been lucky so far other than that.
Thanks to the Homo on wheels, he now has 45,000 people watching him do it. 40,000 of them never rode 2 up on a Harley and 44,000 of them have never had to do it on Main St in Daytona !
@@kurtfoulke5130 And you point is what? If you do something funny, stupid, tragic or bad in public this day and time, it will likely be on someone's cell phone.
Thanks to all the new subscribers. I’m going to start traveling again and hopefully improve my filming and editing haha. I hope to make the content more interesting along the way.
Bike turned to the left, he hit the brakes, leaned the bike to the left, and she started hopping off to the left. Timberrrrrrrrr! Should have swung it more then straightened and stopped. Then let her get off. With the bike turned in on itself and leaning in on that turn in, it's the shortest, quickest path to the ground. Have had it near happen to me a few times over the decades.
Even with that slow speed drop, had either of them smacked their head on the pavement, things could turn disastrous quickly. Cool is nice but put a helmet on.
i bought my new indian and my foot slipped on gravel over it went me under neath had to use other leg to push it off but couldnt lift bike as it was on a slope one guy helped me pick it up but had swollen foot and cuts yeah first time in many years i dropped a bike ....no damage to bike thank fuck
I once sold a bike to a good friend of mine who noticed some scratches on the faring and asked me about them. "I dropped it." He started laughing, talking about how he's never put a bike down in his life. About a week later he called me, "Guess what I did?" Happens to all of us.
I've mostly ridden a 79' KZ1000 ST the 17+yrs I've been riding, never dropped it. Had a 79' GL1000 w/a Vetter fairing the first year we were married, dropped it twice. Last Spring I bought my first "bagger", a new 21' Vulcan 1700 Vaquero, dropped the damn thing 3 times, once in my driveway. Still haven't been on it w/my wife yet, yeah, I'm nervous. One of the times I dropped the GL1000. my wife was on it. Hoping I don't make the same mistakes.
Rode my last HD almost daily for 10 years and the only time I ever dropped it was the day after I bought it . I got back from my first ride and dropped it as I was duck walking it backwards into my garage. Lesson learnt, if you're reversing don't turn to look over your shoulder while you're still moving.
I dropped my Road Glide Ultra @ Myrtle Beach Rally with my lady on the back twice at slow speed. Never again for now on she's on the back of my Road King when she wants to ride.
Yep, I seen a friend i knew in traffic one day, I flipped a uey and front tire washed out from under me. Also witnessed a dude spitting some game at a couple of chicks in a parking lot of the gas station, he was drunk and on a incline didn’t realize bike was rolling back and dumped it right in front of the girls😂
Yeah ! It happens to all of us one day or another. BUT a REAL BIKER would have stopped to help. That's the biker code, I guess videographers just like to watch.
Many a time I've envisioned dropping my wife.. but can't say I've felt the same about my bike... not sure it's worth the trade off... @..10:32 if that's all your here for Probably wishes he had his helmet on to hide his face after that
Its like when you see someone being rear ended and then after 47 F en years some young punk on the phone hits you up the ass and rips your left side rail and hard bag off . 🤔😡🤬 Bikes now in the shop after years of me getting it to where I wanted it to be . Life's a BITCH sometimes. Stay safe out there with your eyes up your ass.👍🇬🇧🇺🇲😎
My ex friend Bob has dropped his bike so many times I refuse to ride with him anymore. He refuses to use his front Brake. "they didn't have front back when I learned how to ride" he says. I saw him fall with a woman on the back of his bike and she almost hit her head on the Street curb. He passed me on a Left turn leaving from a red light, that was the last time I rode with him.
I've met far too many 'instant bikers' who bought a bike too big for their skill level, and only ride when they go to 'Trailer Week' at Daytona or other event.
hate to say but i ride very little and have fallen over at least 3 times on 3 different harleys in the sturgis area...all 3 times engine wasn't even running...was backing them out of my trucks???? hope to see everyone in august for the 83rd rally...ride safe
Shite happens for sure, but I am always hesitant at Bike Week events wherever they are held. The area is inundated with riders who do not keep well practiced in their riding skills, particularly when there is a passenger aboard.
@@hoboonwheels Absolutely edit it out & drop the Clickbait. The guy wasn't being a jerk he just made a small error. You don't even know if they were hurt.
@@hoboonwheels If you're a biker and you see another biker in trouble, you find a way to stop and offer help. Period. Bikers don't laugh and ride on by.
@hoboonwheels Great video. It gave me the opportunity to review my road watching skills and predict what I would do. Sometimes we differed. But e both made it thru the ride unscathed. PS: I thought I switched to riding a Honda Goldwing GL 1800 at 08:36 - 10:30. But then the video self-corrected and went back to riding the HD. Thanks again for recording your ride! 😊👍🏼
A parking spot is not that important that you drop the bike and maybe hurt yourself and passenger there will be many other spots a block away, hope they were OK, Peace..
