As my interest in cars has tapered over the years I’ve watched fewer Doug videos but I did watch the whole Carrera GT video. I will admit I got teary eyed watching it. I've been following you since the Jalopnik days, and I can say that the CGT video was the first and only time I've ever actually gotten excited for a creator achieving their dream car. I remember the CTS-V wagon videos, the Ferrari 360 videos, all that stuff. Knowing what that car meant to you gave it so much significance.

Those PIN based immobilizers were pretty common in PSA cars of that era. Had one in a Peugeot 306 back in 1996.

To be honest, I prefer when you're reviewing the car outside near (some) nature. It creates a sense of openness and having some nature in the background can really change the aesthetics of a car. Your Carrera-GT for example looks really different, and not in a good way, in a barren, cold garage than when you would review it outside. And yes, the weather conditions aren't always optimal but there's something about reviewing a car in an enclosed space that doesn't do the car justice, imo. It also looks kind of sketchy, despite your cargo shorts and white socks, lol. Anyway, Happy 2024, Doug!

My favorite Doug videos for this year are: 1. C6 Z06 and Ferrari 360 Modena - desirable dream cars now at attainable prices 2. Corvette E-Ray and 296 GTB - two supercars taking performance to the next level in a modern/more interesting way (hybridization, that is) 3. 1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo - low-priced fun car that still looks attractive to this day 4. W210 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG - a car that pretty much encapsulates my automotive preferences (high performance, practical and seemingly understated looks-wise) 5. Doug’s Porsche Carrera GT and Lamborghini Countach - two videos that inspire me to keep going and reach my automotive dreams. Thank you, Doug for fueling our thirst for automotive content! I agree with Doug, the SP3 is truly an special car, from the astonishing design to the capabilities it has, it is something special that with the years ahead would be even more praised and loved
