Forest - Excellent loadout, wouldn't change a thing. I would run different boots because I am not a goretex guy unless its deep wet snow.

I like the stone, my biggest complaint is It doesn’t even come standard with auto lock buckles. I run a Kifaru stryker xl with a camp bag and bane lid nowadays. Nice set up. Good luck on your hunt

Do you prefer the locking buckles on all of your straps? I've found the only place that I want them is on the side straps where I put my tripod, but that's just me! -Brady

@@gearfooli do prefer them on all the straps. Keeps things nice and tug. Dont have to worry about any loosening up down the trail. But just like gmc dodge ford or Toyota. It doesn’t matter what you run, they’ll all haul a load. Its just your idea of comfort along the journey :)

@@wyomtnhippie Indeed! There's certainly no one, absolute solution when it comes to a backpack. Thanks for the comments and questions! - Forest

Love the video, great content. Curious, what's the weight of your fully loaded pack with this gear?

Great question and I'm ashamed to admit that I should have weighed this in the video! LOL. Anyways, I will packing this same kit in full in the next few days...I will weigh it then and reply here once complete! - Forest

Excellent video, makes me realize I've got a few upgrades to make! I've had experience in one man tents and hammocks while backpack hunting, ultimately preferring the tent. If you were hunting solo would you switch to a bivy/one person tent instead?

Hey Kyle! That's a solid question that I'm sure others may have as well. I keep with the same system when running solo in grizzly country, and when I want to run a titanium stove with me. I sleep more soundly knowing that the floorless tipi provides me with alternative means of escape from the shelter, rather than being zippered up like a burrito when and if the big critters get curious. When operating solo in other regions, I'll mix it up from tarp to tent based on the weather forecast and season. It can be fun to trial different sheltering techniques from time-to-time! - Forest

How do you like those new briskdal boots? I’ve got a pair in their full leather insulated and they are not my favourite boot to run. I switched to a Salewa Mtn trainer lightweight and work well just short

Thanks for the question. I really enjoy the Crispi Briksdal MTN and it didn't take long before it became my primary boot for early-to-mid season use applications. I haven't personally worn the full leather variant of the Briksdal, but I've held them for a quick look. The full leather Briksdal (whether non-insulated or insulated) and the Briksdal MTN are noticeably different from one another in many ways, both with concern to design and materials. - Forest

How to spot a RU-vid hunter: They dont bring gear, they "run" it. And theres no such thing as pants, its "pant". What pant do you run??
