Herbert Georg operated Herbert Georg Studio in Springfield for 53 years, but his reputation extended well-beyond the city limits including serving as still photographer for Cecil B. DeMille's movie, "The Greatest Show on Earth." The year he died, 1964, his work was exhibited at the World's Fair in New York City. Among his activities were serving as superintendent of the Professional Art Show at the Illinois State Fair and president of the Circus Fans Association of America Hall of Fame.
