Yesss, two of the best PPVs ever. The MU-X is a total choice if diesel is your poison. But when it comes to styling, tech and overall comfort, the Everest can outwit the MU-X. This is like X7 against GLS, in a sense that the SUV landscape is constantly evolving.
@Kuching King Video Gamer modern ford has no reliability issues. It is Filipinos who have trust issues. 5yrs ford owner with 100k kms. No problem. Parts? Yeah genuine parts avaliable online. Lots of fake jap parts. And call them available everywhere. Pms cost? Same price in all casas. Ford even cheaper.
@@monopolarmaster4262 No! Just look at the Australian headlines. Most buyers of Ford Rangers and Everests 2023 are already filing lawsuits because of their transmission issues. Also, from my experience buying brand new fords, 2 hatches (tcm and battery problems) and 1 pickup ( diesel injector and diesel pump problems) between 2010 to 2014. Ford = Lemon Cars.
I don't understand why the manufacturers still place the water intake in that location. Many people don't realise that if you go through the water faster (even if you're within the prescribed wading depth) the wake formed in front of the car could rise up to the bonnet line and into the intake. That could lead to hydrolocking the engine and potentially catastrophic engine failure. I strongly recommend installing a snorkel if crossing streams is part of your adventure.
Hmm, your fuel efficiency tests doesn't seem to match those made by other local reviewers that show that the MU-X is more fuel efficient than the Everest. One review has the Everest doing only around 7.5 km/L in urban driving while the MU-X did almost 10 km/L in comparable traffic conditions. That relatively tiny bi-turbo engine on the Everest is peaky, boost-reliant & has a very narrow powerband, I don't see how it can be more fuel-efficient even with that unnecessarily-complicated 10-speed transmission. On the other hand, that Isuzu engine already achieves most of its torque a few hundred RPM above idle, and sustains its peak torque far longer, and the transmission gearing is better spaced so there's no unnecessary shifting & gear hunting. As for standard features & offroad firmware programming, I'd give the edge to the Ford, but I'd give the long-term reliability, aftersales support & parts availability to the Isuzu. How many Everest owners would use their vehicles off-road anyway, so that theoretical advantage isn't a big deal. The long-standing reputations of both brands precede them. Isuzu engines have a B10 reliability rating of at least 500,000 kilometers, while the newer engines have an even longer B10 rating of 600,000 kilometers. I doubt that overstressed Ford engine can even reach 100K kms without encountering any problems. Just ask former owners. That Fix Or Repair Daily reputation didn't come out of thin air. That 4JJ3-TCX engine is also intentionally tuned conservatively, ECU reflashed MU-Xs in Australia routinely make 300+hp & 750+Nm of torque, while that tiny 2.0L engine on the Ford is already too strained & has little headroom for ECU tuning. It's no surprise that in Australia the MU-X is the sales leader for years, easily beating the Fortuners, Everests & Monteros. Same story in Thailand where both the MU-X and D-Max beats the Everest & Fortuner, and Ranger & Hi-Lux, respectively, in sales.
Hahaha !!! You can really see how the driver get tossed right to left vv in mux during offroading. Since 2016, Everest have the best suspension among all SUV brands... Be it in concrete roads or rough roads, Everest have the best ride quality. 💪
I just sold my 2015 ford everest . The the Ac broke down the second year , then the power steering the third year . The eight year , the dealer wants more than 100k pesos to fix the modulke fro airbag , sensors and rear camera . So I decided to sell it in a very low price. Now I am shopping for a new SUV not Everest again.
Ford’s bi-turbo engine is prone to break down because of too much pressure forced into a small engine! That was what experts discovered here in the US!
@@chubilita234 not stating about demographic coz obviously sa v6 ata sila but still you'd not need rocket science to know that small displacement engine na pina turbo lang is not as good as it sounds, if you notice though its just implied halos lahat ng mga car vloggers natin dito unanimous ang areas for improvement ng ford. gear hunting and turbo lag. sana ginawa nalang nilang 3.0 engine talaga. id be buying mux due to my needs, im more of a utalitarian guy,so mux fits my need better but i gotta say mux is more of a specific tool, everest is also a capable off roader but id buy it if i were living in the city, due to ergonomics and features
Even a 2wd can easily do that. There’s no need to put it in 4L. A 2wd with a proper tire and locker is all you need. Sadly, we don’t get a 2wd with a locker here.
The bias for 4x4 MUX is obvious...Next Gen 4x4 Everest runs over next Gen MUX hands down like better ride comfort, fuel efficiency, tech, panoramic sunroof, parking assist, ride modes and so on... Even the 22 Terra is better than the MUX.. For now only theTerra can somehow stand its ground with the new Everest. But the true challenge for this Everest will be the next gen Fortuner and Next Gen Pajero/Montero.
We have both mux 2022 and everest 2023. For everest kasi theyre really trying to push the bounderies lahat ng tech na nilagay nila pang next gen. Pero still parehas naman gusto ko imaneho.
mu-x lst vs everest titanium offroad performance wise, its mu-x other than that its everest. i guess they were engineered with different philosophies in mind.
If I really have to choose between these two, I'd rather go MU-X. Isn't too advanced nor bare in today's standards which is a good formula for long-term durability and reliability. Tho I'd wait for the updated model launched in TH than this since that already has the more appealing look, together with a fin-type antenna (yikes at the pole-type version in here) and should have lesser cost-cutting tactics with the features (too much blank buttons) to be more suitable for the 2.5M asking price. Never gonna opt for the Everest. Very sketchy electronics in the long run. Goodluck with that If I really am in the market for a 4WD PPV tho, I'd go Montero Sport GT 4WD. For 2.3M you get a bit more notable features(like 2 difflocks, ehem Isuzu) than the MU-X for a lesser price, but isn't as too much as the Everest yet almost as comfy.
Actuall the reliability techs is not the problem but the trust issues. "Techs" ng gord hinahabol ng jap brands. Same reliability issues they said in the previous generation. Di naman nasisira hanggang ngayon after more than 5yrs of "tech" with 100k kms na.
All cars have planned obsolescence anyway. So reliability isn't an issue with any car as long as you're realistic about the purchase. Most people buy a new car once new offerings arrive so holding on to old cars is a waste of time because they are designed to break down after a set period of time.
@@thetrustysidekick3013 Its an issue for people who want to save money and time from repairs. Plus not all people can afford to buy new car every once new offerings arrive.. They want to get the most out of their car before they replace it. Like myself I want my car to last at least 10 years before I buy a new one because I don't have the financial ability to buy a new car for every new facelift, or new generation of a specific car that would most likely happen 3-6 years..
@@thetrustysidekick3013 I think Isuzu is not thinking of that "planned obsolescence." They're still using the same engine with Timing Chains. Unlike Ford's started with different engine options. 3.2 (5cycl), 2.2, 2.0 Biturbo, 2.0 Single Turbo, and new Raptor v6 diesel all with timing belts.
Why do you call extremely old as conservative? I mean the engine is over 22 years old it has had some work done but it still snaps crank shafts more than many others. Not saying its bad but its like buying a brand new old car.
Reliability, Longevity, Resale Value, Transmission, Engine size is bigger, Price = MUX Suspension, Comfort, Premium Feel, Tech, Engine Power (hp between the two, not referring to reliability), Safety Features, Efficient, Frame Build Quality, Exterior and Interior design, Torque = EVEREST Everest > MUX. But I prefer the reliability of a Japanese car over more features. Pero siempre, kanya kanya tayo ng taste. The good thing is, competition in midsize SUV is very tight.
@UCfdpJ7gyhf5H74M5jjfqznA bukod b s casa sir my mabibilhan na original at replacement parts?
Yeah sure fortuner and mux are more reliable than the everest but when you get inside the interior of everest compared to the fortuner and mux you feel rip off🤣
Blind brand apologists. As if these brands want negative feedback by selling something unreliable. Not a fan of Ford but got to give credit where its due.
@Lolita Monsood I see, hence the reaction lol. Sadly, both my friends never wanted one from the brand after their experiences. Both had transmission problems, something not new here as well tbh. Good for you for having good units, but PH setting is different from AUS where maintenance from the blue oval brand also tends to be much more expensive as they have also kept ranting about and yet have experienced several problems.
As a Toyota guy, ang labanan dito parang debate ng mobile phone. Nokia 3310's reliability vs Iphone's features. No brand wars please. Wlang basagan ng trip.
4x4 with no lockers. Sure we all know 99% of these will barely see dirt and if they do barely anyone knows how to use lockers, but why bother putting on a 4x4 system when they already know competition is already tight as it is. You lose the lockers yet it isn't felt in the price. To think people who'd buy these will want all the bells and whistles
#1 in diesel. Isuzu all the way. 🤣 Matic na yan for longe term ownership isuzu at toyota. If i have a 2.5M hard earned money i will choose isuzu #1 is peace of mind. Commonsense will tell you 3.0 vs 2.0 belt vs timing chain.
LOL @ those spec sheet monkeys choosing cars like they choose mobile phones. No kids, these aren't things you upgrade every year to get some incremental increase in some category. How limp-wristed do you have to be to want a very light steering wheel? Don't skip arm day, kiddos. After all, you're not driving a kart. Why do you need a sunroof in a tropical country with polluted urban air? Where & when would you open it? It's just an unnecessary feature that adds to the production expense, lessens chassis rigidity, and increases injury & damage risk from rollovers. A touchscreen interface to control even vital car functions? What if the screen gets damaged due to usage, heat & aging? If there are no hard buttons/dials/levers how would you operate those vital functions then? Do you know how common touchscreen digitizer repairs are for mobile phones? And how do you safely operate it while driving, it's just another needless distraction. Vital car functions should always have hard interfaces for safety & reliability. Very little of those Ford features are really compelling & necessary.
