2 weeks ago I traded in my 22 Tremor for a Raptor, had the Tremor for a year and loved it but I can tell you the tremor does not compare to the Raptor, the Raptor is just amazing. Best Truck I have owned!
rather save the money to get the Tremor, sick hoodvents look like earthquake and all the bells and whistles minus the wide body raptor. sleeper build. very good truck overall, smooth do everything truck.
I love the Raptor, it’s the ultimate vehicle, I would love to have one of money was no object. When it comes down to how I use the truck, off roading, towing, carrying stuff in the bed the Tremor with a Torsen front end is going to be the best bet. I want something that I can off road in, get into places that are harder to access. The Tremor is 6” narrower than the Raptor, so it’s going to do better in narrower trails, plus the trail turn assist is really going to help. My only beef on the Tremor is it’s massive rake. I would put a Halo leveling suspension on it to level it out. I would opt for the higher trim package because you will get the Raptor transfer case that will give you the all wheel drive option, in addition to 4H and 4L. I think this is really handy when driving on paved roads in the rain and snow. Plus, I think that the seats are ventilated and AC on the backside during the summer is great! I really think the Tremor hits that market of consumer that uses their trucks off road and wants something really capable right off the lot. Side bar, I wish Ford put locking rear ends and the auxiliary switches in every model of 4X4 they make.
My guess is that a lot of the difference in handling feel is due to the tire difference between the two models. The Tremor uses a fairly tall and narrow General ATX tire while the Raptor uses a much wider profile BFG KO2. Rubber compounds are probably different as well. One other point. The Tremor with the 5.0L also has another option that's not available with the EcoBoost. You can order either the Roush TVS or the Whipple supercharger and have it dealer installed on the 5.0L. That will give you at least 700 hp but it will also put you closer to the price of a Raptor. However, you would still have much higher payload and tow ratings than the Raptor and you would have power similar to a Raptor R.
I hear you about the payload and tow capacities, and squat issues of the Raptor. I currently tow a 3500 pound teardrop trailer, which is nothing for either truck. After having old Mustangs and a Ford Explorer with leaf springs, I'm tired of bouncy rear ends. Plus the Raptor is so cool looking and sounding. Cost no object, I go for the Raptor.
You don’t need to watch the vid to know the answer, look at the resale values/prices for used versions- IT AINT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE!!!!😂😂😂 + the Raptor has all forged internals in that 3.5 HO, the only other ford that shares that? The supercar GT. So when you throw an aggressive 93 octane tune on a Raptor you can rest easy vs the tremor…..
The dealerships in my area are still adding a “market adjustment” of $10-15k on Raptors. It’s not like your choice is spending $78k for a Tremor or $82k for a Raptor. All things being equal, I’d rather have the Raptor but it would be hard to justify spending $90k plus on a pickup truck.
I got my 5.0 this Wednesday. I ordered the 5.0 for supposed long term reliability (in my mind). After 150 miles I'm in with 16.5 combined mpg. It is hard not to want to listen to the v-8 though. Peace, Love!!
Now at 17.8 mpg (combined) in "normal" mode (mostly). I probably haven't gone over 70 yet because it has been in the tri-city area of the San Juan basin (hard not to accelerate though because it's there). I'm in the 4-corners so not all that far away from you. I haven't tried "Eco" mode. Still on the first tank of gas (tank is huge). I tried out sport mode this week and was impressed. I think the Tremor is slightly wider and taller than the F-150 FX4 (slightly). Peace, Love!!
Way more comfortable in the tremor because the recaros on the raptor hold you snug in the seat when offroading or racing. Tremor seats much more comfortable for daily use
I have a 19 Raptor and considering a tremor here shortly. They are growing on me! I do offroad on my truck and with the Raptor I snap the mirrors in on every trail lol. I also would love the extra payload in the tremor. Im adding ICON leafs into the raptor to help with towing sag and payload. The 5.0 would be awesome with a supercharger but living at high elevation im a bit torn on engines
Oh, you can do this? So the Raptor would have both coil springs and leaf springs? EDIT: Oh, never mind. I just realized that the Raptor started using coils in 2021.

I prefer the Tremor but the Raptor will hold its resale value much better. If I could get a great deal on the Tremor for like $35k slightly used, I’d go that route.
Well, the Tremor is easily a more rounded vehicle, Maverick Tremor, Ranger Tremor, F-150 Tremor, F-250 Tremor and F-350 Tremor. You can also get the Super Duty Tremors with gas or diesel!
The Tremor is a separate model, not a package added to an XLT or Lariat and it comes in either the 401A Standard Equipment Group or the 402A High Equipment Group. The 402A does also get you the Raptor T-case with the 4A (AWD) setting. BTW, did you graduate from THE Ohio State? j/k
You could always add one. I have thought about buying a used Platinum trim and having the dealer install a Torsen front axle for me. From what I have read it would be around $1200. $600 for the axel, $600 for the labor. You might want to ask around and see if it’s possible at your local dealership.
I’ve had 2 Gen 2 Raptors 2018 & 2020. Then in 2022 I switched to the Tremor 402A and last ween I bought another 402A 2023 both were loaded w/Torsen diff’s . I chose the Tremor because of where I live and the type of trails I do and towing and hauling was easy with either. If I lived in wide open area out west it would be a Raptor. “FOR ME” I really like the Tremor’s better.
@@KAZ109 Maybe not McDonalds, more Ruby Tuesday :lol:. Well maybe there is a bit more tech and more powerful b/c of turbo but nothing sounds better than a 6.2L. Maybe the Raptor R. I also have a Flowmaster catback. Sounds better than my neighbors new 6.2L vette. His words. Driven easy i can get 15-16mpg. Raptor can't tow 11.1k. (or 9k effortlessly). Each has its purpose.
I live in Utah near you. Raptor's are just a flex for city boys. I don't see how people can stomach a $1000+ truck payment for depreciating liability, but more power to them. I had the same problem with my Ram Hemi with the coil springs. Putting my boat or a car trailer behind it would make it squat all the way down to the bump stops. Rated for like 10K but couldn't handle 10% tongue weight. What a joke. If you tow a camper or a boat and use a 1/2 ton get a truck with leaf springs and if you regularly tow over 7000 lbs get a 3/4 ton.
If I got the Tremor I'd get the higher end package. I really want the Raptor, probably the 37 package, but am balking because of the much lower payload capacity of the Raptor; I think you said 1700 lbs Tremor and 1100 lbs Raptor. I am considering an RSI Smartcap on the bed, which is very heavy, I think I read nearly 400 lbs, and possibly a Roofnest Sparrow2 pop up tent on top of that, and adding in other things into the bed, I'm concerned the Raptor might be butt heavy, might sag. Most Raptor overland youtubers don't mention that but a few do, and they opted to add leafs or I think one said heavier springs to the rear of the Raptor to alleviate that sag, but then I'd be concerned that would sacrifice that wonderful buttery smooth drive of the Raptor. Do you have any thoughts on this payload, sagging concern? Because other than that, I'd likely get the Raptor, still might but unsure. Thanks.
Got myself a fully loaded 22 tremor with every option available, with 600 miles for 66k. The sticker price is 76 k and the owner traded it for a new truck. Couldn't pass it. Best truck I ever owned. Oh I and I forgot Blue Cruise
Twin tube rear shocks??? Are you sure??? Event the FX4 package give you monotube rear shocks. Just asking, I really hope you just misspoke that the Tremor has twin tube shocks. Not hating, Love your videos, just asking for clarification.
Tremor interior is amazing. I wasn't about to spend another $10,000 for leather, memory seat, slide middle counsel to a desk. Not worth it. I have the loaded tremor not the lariat model. It's a tremor and does its purpose
I think ford should just toss those raptors specs into the new tremor and give us a new off road truck with MSRV that’s in between top range raptor and Tremor at least it makes sense for the money and I believe the wide body and fender flares will make the Tremor more aggressive in the look and makes all of us happy. Plz keep the engine options also available we still love the V8 sound and it’s very American 🇺🇸 If you folks agree with me plz hit the like button. Thanks for the great content.

I don't disagree with you overall but I'll say that it's unfortunate that you mis informed your audience about the squat on the Raptor. I assume that you made it up for effect? Either way you don't have to look far to see towing reviews on the Raptor and the squat basically levels the truck. Were you talking to those people that put front levelers on? In that case then yes the squat will be noticeable. Either way I suggest you do a little research before making incorrect statements. I agree with the rest of your view and generally appreciate your content. Good job overall
