2023 Future Warfighting Symposium: Keynote Speaker Eric Schmidt 

On August 10, 2023, Eric Schmidt, Ph.D., former CEO of Google and chair of the DoD Defense Innovation Board, addresses students at the U.S. Naval War College's Future Warfighting Symposium, explaining that “innovation power” is needed in addition to traditional models of hard and soft power in order to compete on a global scale.
Since 2017, the Future Warfighting Symposium has launched the Naval War College academic year, convening subject-matter experts who address several topics identified by the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff as special areas of emphasis for professional military education. Now in its sixth year, the symposium continues to introduce cutting-edge topics to better prepare students to successfully lead in complex operations and strategic environments.
