We have a 2020 E-pro 19 FD and have replaced all the outside locks because the original locks and keys locked up and wouldn’t open the storage doors anymore. Additionally, the outside storage may seem like a lot but it really isn’t. And the biggest issue is that all the inside cabinet doors and drawers MUST BE Secured with bungee cords or torsion bars before traveling because they do not stay closed otherwise. The Murphy bed is amazingly comfortable. That said, we are planning to upgrade to a Class C or Small Class A in the very near future.

Thanks for the review. Generally, I like the Geo Pros. BUT, for this money, several design decisions are incomprehensible: 1--not being able to access the bathroom with the slide in [Incredible! Somebody designed this who does not actually use RVs] ; 2--not being able to put the bed down with the slide in and 3--offering the option for 12V tank heaters, yet allowing the space under the bed to be wholly exposed to the un-insulated, pass-thru storage underneath. The third problem was something even Outdoors RV was doing on their trailers until the couple that have the channel Adventurous Way got them to insulate that space, so, ok. Still, Geo Pro is positioning themselves as the adventuring TT. With a few changes (access to bathroom and bed with the slide in and a little insulation) this would be worth the $$. But, not yet.

I'd like to see one floor to ceiling closet between two single "beds". The storage for clothes you'd have to be a gymnast to get to.

I've owned the 2022 19FDS for coming up on a year soon. The big gripe for us is there is virtually NO STORAGE space. Even though we are just a couple who camps on 4 day weekends, it gets ridiculous. We have worked out a couple of the LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL issues from the factory. None have been serious because we were intentionally looking for leaks and such on the initial shakedown cruise last year. These were leaky connections under the kitchen and on the outdoor shower, and a cabinet door that fell apart. Our most recent trip was plagued with not enough power while boondocking on our undeveloped land a couple of hours south. There's not sufficient open sky to get a good recharge and our small propane generator was struggling to maintain 120V to charge unless we shut off the refrigerator during those recharge cycles. At that point, I was surely missing the propane refrigerator! I agree with the points made below by Northstar7. We regret getting this model for many of those reasons. We haven't had any issue with the slide motor at this time, but will be mindful of that. We have a great dealer, but he is 3 hours away.

I don't know what you all are brining on your camping trips.. but man oh man.. WHAT do you need to STORE in the camper? Do you also not have storage space in your car/suv/truck? Lol.. I think folks think they are full time RV's or something instead of just get away for a few day campers. Check out Slim Potatohead... he'll travel for weeks in an airstream style... doesn't bring his entire house with him!

Great video! Just so everyone knows there is a major defect with the Schwintek slide by Lippert. Lippert is taking months to approve warranty work. I have already lost my GeoPro for over 6 weeks during the only camping period in my region waiting for Lippert. Be aware Lippert is not a great company when it comes to support!

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your slide. We have seen a few Geos come back in the past two years with slide motor issues. In these cases we have handled the repair quickly for the customer to get them back on the road ASAP, then followed up with the warranty through Rockwood, since this falls under their 1-year warranty. A good dealer can make the difference in these cases. I hope you get back on the road to enjoy what's left of the season.

I have a 2021 19FD purchased in May of 21 for $27.2K with a trailer stabilizer hitch. I have tank heaters, 12V fridge, and the oven option. My microwave blew out when I got a surge while plugging in, and I replaced it with the convection oven/microwave option that became available. I'm envious of the bathroom in this one, seems a better, more spacious design. Like the larger TV too. Something I'd wish was available when I purchased was the extra solar panels (I only have one 190W, which is not enough to keep the refrigerator running), the larger inverter (mine is only 1000W), lithium batteries (I upgraded myself to lithium as the AGM originals are nearly worthless) and the soft start AC.
@slalomking
@slalomking Год назад
Thanks for the advice about the 190 watts solar panel not bring enough to run the fridge. This is great knowledge. We are looking at campers now and I believe we need 400 watts up top at least
@David-rx2to
@David-rx2to Год назад
@@slalomking There are 210 watt panels available on Amazon that are the same size as the original equipment here. I spoke to a Forest River rep and the standard charge controller and internal wiring can handle up to 485 watts of solar. Any higher, since there is room for two additional panels on the driver's side, you should replace the controller and wiring. That is the company line. I'm not a solar/electrical engineer but, in actual practice, you will never get 100% of the rated Watts on your panel, unless you are on the equator at noon. The best I've seen out of my solar panels, under ideal conditions in Arizona, was somewhere between 75 and 80% of the rated value for the panel. Maybe I'm giving you dangerous advice, so before you upgrade your system talk to someone who really knows what they're talking about. I upgraded my two AGM original equipment batteries to a couple lithium ion 100 amp hour batteries. In actual practice, they will give you an extra 2 days or more, depending on usage of course, over the original agms. They can get you through a long weekend, but not much more. The trailer really should have come with two panels up top instead of one.
@slalomking
@slalomking Год назад
@@David-rx2to thanks David for the advice. We haven’t purchased a unit yet but, sounds like 400 watts up top would be a good starting point !!!
@David-rx2to
@David-rx2to Год назад
@@slalomking something to consider besides an extra panel up top, is your batteries. If you still have the original AGM batteries, I believe that is the weak Link in the chain. It just doesn't have enough stored capacity to service the 12 volt refrigerator for more than a day or two without sun. I would consider purchasing batteries first before an extra panel up top, but if your pocketbook allows both at one time, that would be ideal. Measure the dimensions available where your battery is mounted now on the tongue of your trailer. I purchased two 100 amp hour lithium batteries, and they were physically larger than the original agms. They didn't fit in the same space lengthwise across the tongue. I had a mobile welder come and put two angle irons on top of the tongue, and mounted the two batteries above, behind the propane tanks. Not an ideal solution, but I made the mistake of not paying attention to the dimensions of the batteries I was buying. Instead of two individual batteries, consider one 200 or 300 amp hour single battery. Examine the dimensions and see if it will fit in the original location of the two you have now. You may have to source a custom battery box to fit a larger battery. Or you may build something to house the battery externally, or relocate the batteries internally, underneath the couch. My batteries outside have low temperature protection so that they don't try to charge at or below freezing temperatures. If you would mount the batteries inside the trailer under the couch, purchasing a battery with low temperature protection might not be necessary. Also you wouldn't have to worry about trying to find a external battery box that would fit a 200 or 300 amp hour single battery, and it would theoretically prevent theft of your external batteries.
@slalomking
@slalomking Год назад
@@David-rx2to yeah I wish they would put the batteries inside, could significantly cut down on theft. Lithium is the way to go on the batteries!

@@RousseausRVWalkthroughs if you opt to the power package, how long can you run the AC off of batteries?
@RousseausRVWalkthroughs
@RousseausRVWalkthroughs Год назад
@@Bronco2Cj The lithium battery that comes with the Power Package provides 400amp hours. The 11K BTU Soft Start A/C, if run constantly with no charge coming from the 3 solar panels, would last about 4-5 hours. If the 600W solar panels (3- 200W panels) are bringing in a charge during daylight hours, there would be significant variability based on how much power they are generating for the battery. There is also variability when it comes to how much the compressor is on for the A/C. Humidity and outside temperature can cause it to run anywhere from 30% to 70% of the time it is in use. The expected range from Rockwood, due to this variability, is 4 to 9 hours of constant A/C use.
