Such an incredible car for the money … ~5 months into my ‘23 Sonata N-Line lease and couldn’t be more pleased after deciding to leave the luxury marques alone for a while. Hope you guys are still enjoying yours as well!
@@FordEnthusiast413 Surely - I live in Tennessee, where snow days are wildly sporadic. Honestly b’c I’m used to high-horsepowered RWD vehicles, I chose not to drive it the two days it snowed in January. I believe though if one knows how to drive well in inclement weather, it’s not as “uncontrollable” as many auto journalists claim; even launching in Sport+, as a guy who races cars and motorcycles, I find it very controllable and much more stable than what I’ve heard.
@@donteadoss Thanks. It is true about knowing how to drive. I have a friend who had a rear wheel drive Olds Cutlass 442 and he never got stuck in the snow. He used to tell me stories how he would drive past abandoned SUVs that got stuck along the side of the road in snowstorms.
@@FordEnthusiast413 Absolutely - Cleveland is my hometown yet driving in snow past stuck vehicles as a resident in Nashville and Atlanta has always been entertaining.
i have the same car as your review for 2 months i am so happy with it. it is comfortable and easy to ride is. also the interior build quality is pleasing to the touch
There are a few reasons why I think the Sonata doesn't sell so good 1. It isn't offered in AWD 2. Most people will prefer the Kia K5 3. There is no limited version with more hp (there used to be a limited 2.0T engine) 4. People not wanting to buy Hyundai Edit: The upcoming 2024 Sonata will offer awd on select trims, and the grill looks much better, id say the new styling looks better than the current K5
@@damilolaakanni yea, maybe without the grill, I feel like more people would buy the Sonata. I don't mind the many body lines, but I def agree with the reviewer (idk if it was Drew or Derik) about the asymmetry.
Yep I detest the Sonata. I made the mistake of buying one in 2020 and had problem after problem. Best thing I did was trade my Hyundai in, and bought a Subaru Legacy instead.
I don’t see a lot of people (at least people living in cities) buying Hyundais/Kias right now considering the rampant theft/break-in problem that’s been going on. Even if the newest ones “can’t” be stolen, kids are still going to smash your window anyways
You are right, the companies need to be held accountable. However, you wouldn’t have to deal with that nearly as much if you didn’t live in a big city.
Just wanted to clarify, this may be different from 2021, but the SEL plus with the technology package will have led rear turning signals/brake light. At least mine did.
The door is all chromed. The black part is just a peel that has to come off. When I took delivery of mine I thought the same until I saw the black thing peeling and I pulled it to realize that it’s all chrome.
Nice vehicle but after Hyundai massive recall many Sonatas are showing up on used car lots. I had a N-Line Sonata and several days it would not go over 30MPH.
Im surprised this hasnt been refreshed yet. Considering its been out for 4 years already. Came out in 2019 as a 2020 model. Its kinda behind considering the palisade got one already as well as the santa fe.
It's not selling well compared to those two and the related Kia K5. I won't be surprised if Hyundai says they'll be discontinuing the Sonata soon. There are rumors about that already.
My wife owns the SEL Plus and with 10 or 12” display and it lacks the Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. But their 8” does offer that feature. I don’t understand why. Is it a hardware limitation?
It’s a dispute between Hyundai/Kia and the company that supplies their Nav system pertaining to which one(inboard nav or apple maps/google maps/Waze) are the default system when there’s no cord plugged in. It’s not the screen size that’s the issue. It’s the fact that all models with the larger screens also include navigation. Why they are the only manufacturer with this contract issue is beyond me.
The age of people’s interest surely being switched from sedans to SUVs, there is no more sedan demand for not being innovative cars. Of course no dominant changes into Sonata.
That chrome trim could just be covered and the guy/girl that peels off the plastic off the cars that come out of the factory may have just forgotten to peel off that protective cover.
We can confirm that it definitely wasn't there. Sometimes they have white coverings on the chrome but this was just the weather stripping. It's very odd.
Do yourself a favor and do not get a Hyundai. I have a 2012 sonata and it’s nothing but issues. Yes it has 115k, but that’s not much compared to honda/Toyota. Engine failed last year and waited 2 1/2 months for appointment/replacement without a rental for the first 2 months. A week after the engine got replaced my fuel pump went out. Luckily it is covered, but has been on back order since November. I am still trying to get reimbursed for the rental I had to rent with my own money 6 months later! If it wasn’t for the high used car prices I would’ve bought a car a long time ago. My rental was a 2023 sonata and it seemed nice but no way am I going through this again down the road. The amount time/wait times for appointments/money wasted for these issues was insane. I know my next car will not be a Hyundai.
Hyundai is not known for long lasting motors. I like everything else about the cars , I work for Enterprise and get in and out of all the brands and makes.
@@MichaelGalianov My favorite engine is the simple 2.5 4 cylinder from Nissan. The non direct injected one in the previous generation Altimas. I just don't want the potential issues with turbos. I own a 16 Altima and love how that engine feels and sounds.
@@calgary2800 yeah but I’m looking for new car now and idk which one to choose I liky hyundai but I’m not sure about their reliability and as I know new nissan has problem with transmission (
This destroys the Accord and Camry in everything but reliability... Hyundai-Genesis/Kia are the automotive benchmarks... 1. Hyundai Sonata N-Line 2. Kia K5 GT 3. Nissan Altima SR 4. Mazda 6 5. Honda Accord
Ehh..Personally id not litterly use a ruler to measure anything on RU-vid, better to say your height, and then show knees to back seat how much...but to each there own. Good review tho.
The MOST hideous-looking vehicle coming from Hyundai! The Bose audio system is the only good thing about it! There's not enough adjectives in the English language to properly describe this THING!!!!!!!!!
