Excellent review of both vehicles. I recently leased a Tucson Limited and I love it! Very comfortable car to drive on a daily basis.

Thank you for this review! Our 2017 Tucson was just (while unoccupied in a parking spot thankfully) thrashed by a fast moving Sorento and may well be written off. We have a high trim level 2023 Rogue as a rental replacement for now, and it's been amazing - save for the auto lock at 24km/h doors which no forum advice I've found can disable - but we will likely pick up a 2023 Tucson if we don't get the 2017 back. Finding a video comparing the vehicle we temporarily own vs the one we should be researching was very timely, so thanks!

Great review! I shopped around for nearly a year to replace my 19 Altima SV for a smaller SUV. I tested and compared nearly all of them (compact and sub compact suv's), minus a few that dealers could not keep in stock. My decision came down to Rogue SV with premium package vs the Tucson with Convenience package. I ended up liking the Tucson just slightly better. I didn't care for the electronic shifter the new Rogue has, but most likely would have gotten used to it. I liked how the navigation was lower and easier to reach in the Tucson. Even though the Nissan's have it up higher for easier view, it was a bit more difficult on my wrists to use when driving. Wireless Android Auto works really nice in the Tucson. The Rogue did have a larger sunroof and has heated steering that the Tucson did not. Yet the Tucson was able to haul more if I hook up a small trailer. Was a close comparison and think honestly would have been happy with either one.

Thank you for the review! Ive been in the Nissan Family for 18 years. Ive never had an issue with Nissan and stated the next vehicle i purchase i wanted an SUV. Well im currently looking for another vehicle and the Rogue was my go to. I had the pleasure in test driving two of them and i dud loke the feel of it. To me, its just like driving my Altima just on a bigger style. The salesperson called this morning asking what did i think about the Hyundai Tucson. Im gonna go test drive one today. But based on what i could see in the pics, it seems the Tucson is almost similar to the Rogue. With your comparisons, it really showed me all i needed to know. Also with Hyundai they have a better warranty plan and ur comes with lots of rebates n discounts. I just may move on to Hyundai. Lol Thanks again!!

Thank you for the good video Peter, lots of info! I was very keen on the Nissan Rogue because of the 3 cylinder fuel efficiency, but when I went to sit in one a few days ago I couldn't get over the center console width forcing an odd angle on my leg to reach the gas pedal, uncomfortable. Goes to show that comparing specs on paper and watching reviews is an important start but the next step you absolutely must go and see the vehicles in person.

Oh, absolutely! Just because it works for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone! Great point! Thanks for watching!

Loved the video. Worth mentioning these trims are not equal. The rogue is a lower basic trim and still comparable and keeping up feature to feature to high end Tucson. That wasn’t really said in the video. You don’t get pano roof in Tucson unless you go high trim.

Hi Peter. Nice video. If you have to put your money which one of the 2 you would pick and why?

I like the Tucson. I've owned a Santa Cruz which shares the dash of this vehicle. The Santa Cruz has much more power, but I'm a bit of a techy and the Tucson has easy to use tech, a super roomy back seat, and I like the styling... But the Rogue has also really impressed me and if I had a different trim of the Tucson than the one in this video, I might choose the Rogue too. Truthfully, I already own a plug in hybrid vehicle, and the Tucson is available as a plug-in hybrid. Now that I have this type of vehicle, it would be hard for me to go back to a fully gasoline vehicle, so since the Tucson is available with a PHEV drivetrain, that would be the one that I would choose.

That digital screen looks so small and awkward in the Hyundai. The dashboard wasn't designed for it.

Like the Tuscon (nearly bought one, but settled on the SantaFe), but don’t have the Rogue in our market

The Rogue is nice. Depending on the trim, it really has some nice features. I've always been a fan of this Tucson, so it was nice to get back into one today.

This is an excellent review. Thank you! However, I don't think comparing Nissan Rogue SL to Tucson N Line is a fair comparison. Rogue platinum and Tucson N Line would have been much better.
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne Год назад
That's true, but I didn't have matching trim lines at the time of filming. We had a few Rogue's in stock and just one of this Tucson, so I tried to take advantage of what I had. The higher trim line Tucsons are hybrids though, so that would also change things up.

The Rogue does NOT have a 360 camera available on the SV model. Only the SL and Platinum in the U.S. Cannot say for Canada.

Isn't it odd though that the 21 Rogue has the 360 view in the SV, the SL, and Platinum. My 22 Rogue SV doesn't have it, wish it did.

Seeing these two side by side really makes the Rogue look horrendous. Prior to seeing this, I liked the new design of the Rogue. Not anymore. Wow!

Nice comparisons here. All that piano black all over the inside of the Tucson ends m consideration for it. Ugh. It looks more like a raised up car, the Rogue more like a small SUV. Nissans's turbo has lots more ooomph as well as much better mpg's so.....

If that were to happen, youtubers' would had already gone berserk about the fact that Hyunda did a recall, BMW and Mercedes also had their fair share of re-calls, even Toyota has many aswell, did their resale value budge? No, globally, it had no impact, and the same goes for Hyundai. Wake up your little mind dimwit

The dashboard on the hyundai was awful! Why couldn't they just use a normal analog gage cluster? It'd look 100x better.
@PeterLoweOne
@PeterLoweOne 7 месяцев назад
Haha. I used to work with Hyundai vehicles extensively and I can tell you that I heard far more, "wow, I love that" than what you feel about it. It's tough to build the perfect car for everyone, but I'd say that if Hyundai was playing the odds, they have a winner with the dash. Having said that, lower trims have a traditional dash, that may be worth checking out if you like the rest of the vehicle.

I was told by my insurance agent that it was 2019 and earlier. Maybe some 2020s? Not 100% on that though.
