I happen to love cruisers and especially Indian. What type of bikes do you normally ride and how do you reconcile a comparison with regard to riding position? Good review
Honest, solid, informative review- thank you. This is one of the few Indians that have drawn my attention but I expected more. I find this bike a swing and a foul ball. Not a miss but the issues you mention are what would concern me. Looks like a weird riding position.
Fox performance rear shocks, inverted ohlins front forks, brembo brakes, LED lighting, touch screen nav and a massive 125tq engine... What do you meant budget? 🤣
If you were to ever really examine either an HD or Indian you would understand the price premium. They’re just built to a different standard. Everything in it is metal, no plastic fenders or anything. Even the belt guard on my Indian is metal. The paint is thick and super high quality. Again you just have to ride one to get it.
4:48 Stunning profile. I even like the fairing; it adds to the looks. Very attractive front-end looks, too. But the seat's too low for me, the pegs too far forward. I'll stick to my 1670cc MT-01.
What is it with people who follow this channel? Comparing your Yamaha MT-01 to an Indian Sport Chief is just plain stupid. One is a "power cruiser" while the other is your American traditional cruiser. You might be better comparing your bike with a Triumph Rocket 3 or a Ducati Diablo. The other bit of silliness is that your bike is about 10 years old and can no longer be purchased new (in my country). How many people would sit there and say "Hmmmm! Will I buy a nice new flat red Indian Sport Chief or instead do the rounds of the motorcycle wreckers and see if I can pickup a ten to fifteen year old Yamaha MT-01". Rrrrrrrr!
@@peteranderson7497 Did I suggest that anyone should buy an MT? I merely said I'm sticking with mine. The shove from the respective V-twins is the obvious common ground. My MT is hardly a power cruiser.
@@1990-t1j Hello from Wales. I do recall there being an MT-01 for sale on eBay a few years ago, which was a one owner bike that had Yamaha's Stage 3 kit fitted to it. Not many people had that done and I wonder if it'd be worth you contacting Yamaha. You might be able to get a kit that's left on the shelf for a knockdown price !
By the time HD or Indian actually make a bike I'd consider we will probably be riding electrics. Closest I could get to a cruiser would be a Diavel or Rocket 3.
Meanwhile Harley builds a 132 cubic inch engine that will tear this things heart out and destroy it. Come on Polaris you can do better, you have a liquid cooled engine to use.
Sure the 135 will beat this. It's also 8K ply 2K to install. There is 0 reason to talk shit about this Bike. Hopefully someday Polaris will put out some crate engines. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
