Hey guys! This one was all shot and edited in one day, so sorry if it doesn't flow super well.
If Indian would have invited me out to their press-day, I would have been all over it, but yanno, small channel problems. Maybe one day.
If you see this, comment "Sport Chief is Rowdy, Rompin', and Rippin'"
Thanks for watching. See you in the next one.
Background music is "Justice" and "Bunny Bounce" from Fortnite's lobby soundtracks.
‪@RidingintheOzarks‬ I did borrow one of your thumbnail stills in this video. Tune in to @2:29 to see how relevant it was!

This is everything I wanted my scout bobber to be. But 680lbs and with only 120hp.... I would want it lighter or more power. And for that price point the Buell super cruiser is 450lbs and 175hp. Ill want to see one in person. They do look great though.

The chief lineup is better than the dyna ever was. I have a Super Chief that’s only a 111ci and it’ll snap a neck in sport mode. I might be trading up to a Sport Chief though.

In my opinion, the Dyna line set the standard for middle-weight American cruisers. If it wasn't for the Dyna (and the Dyna Bros) the Chief line may not have turned out as well as it did. If you want to trade up to a sport chief, have your dealer order one! Even if you don't proceed with the purchase after it arrives, they will be able to sell it anyway. Best of luck, ride safe!

I visited the local Indian dealer (only 10 miles from home) but wasn't able to ride the Chief. Since the power and torque specs are pretty much the same as my 2022 Lowrider S I don't expect there would be an impressive performance difference versus the Chief. That said their digital display has more functionality than the display on the Lowrider including GPS which is a very helpful feature. The styling of the bikes are quite different which might draw some to the Indian. The Lowrider having a sleeker !ook. While the two bikes have practically the same displacement the Thunderstroke engine looks massive in comparison to the Harley M8 117 engine. The other thing that might account for the sleeker look of the Lowrider is the hidden monoshock (under the seat) versus the visible dual rear shocks on the Indian. Of course beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. At 5'6" I'm more of a fan of the mid controls on the Lowrider which might be cramped for taller riders. There isn't anything about the Indian that would wow me over from my Lowrider but for someone shopping around the Chief should be in the consideration.

Good review and nice bike. Not having ridden a chief sport and solely going off review vids the only question thus far is the seemingly to thin wind screen. Maybe Indian can beef this up a smidge to stop that annoying ass flexing. Doesn't exactly give off vibes of being a premium bike.
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Год назад
Yea, I definitely stopped focusing on that while I was riding because of how much fun I was having with the rest of the machine! You're 100% right though, that is something that should not occur on a deluxe machine. I imagine on the next generation they may include a small bar to go across to aid with reinforcement, or even just producing the screen with thicker material. Thanks for your comment!

Watched your Low Rider S video as well and these are the two bikes I’m torn between. I’m going to set up a test ride on both of them here shortly, however, now that you’ve rode both bikes which one would you buy?
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Год назад
This is such a tough decision because both bikes are so good. The HD I rode had pipes on it and I think that made it feel more fun. The Chief is definitely smoother, and the Ride Command + Throttle modes mean you can change it up every now and again and get some good data when you want it. I think the Indian would have been more enjoyable with some cams and a 2-1 exhaust set up, and if that was the case, I think I’m taking the Indian. Depends on how good of a deal would be available on a Low Rider S though. That bike f*cks lol. Best of luck making a choice 🙃

@@Omni_Moto This is actually helpful. I have a test ride tomorrow at a shop and they have the Blue Sport with the Cold air and Sawicki exhaust already installed. I'm not a big fan of the Blue, but the website has it listed at 19,999. So if I can get the cold air AND the Sawicki for that price I will just get it. @@Omni_Moto I bought it. Came with Sawicki Exhaust and Cold Air already installed with the ECU tuned. It sounds nasty and sport mode rides nasty. I loved it. I didn't even make it to Harley to ride the Low Rider. I wish there were more after market parts available for Indian, however, I knew they did not have much going in. I want bar end mirrors and not sure if that is something I will be able to do at all with the internal throttle... The only thing I hate on the bike is the stock grips. They feel very cheap and there is too much play in the throttle. Also, almost feels like a small lag when throttle is twisted.

The blue looks amazing, but the tank looks tiny. I always imagined cruisers would have bigger fuel tanks so you don't have to stop to refuel every 200 kilometers.
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Год назад
The tank is on the smaller side, but I think its acceptable for the Chief since it's not a full blown touring motorcycle. If you ran it completely bone-dry and were able to pull 45MPG, you'd get 180 miles out of it, or ~290 km! Thanks for stopping in John.

Autocratic transmissions are not available on most motorcycles. It's never too late to learn though! I recommend doing some research on organizations/dealerships near you that offer the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course. If you have a disability and have limited movement with your clutch hand, you may check out Honda's Rebel, CTX, or Adventure motorcycle line up because they offer them with DCT transmissions that shift for you. I've linked a video below for you so you can see what that entails with the Honda CTX I rode a few months ago. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pXNjtLHyOnI.html

I see where you’re coming from, and I used to be the same way, but sometimes it’s not about the highest level of engineering and precision. These middle-weight performance-oriented American cruisers are a blast to ride if you know what to expect. If you go in hoping for heaps of horsepower, you’ll be let down. If you know where peak torque is at on these cruisers and you know the machine well enough, you can just shred the tire and ride the absolute piss out of it. I believe guys who can stunt on 650lb+ cruisers are probably some of the most talented riders.
@lsixty30
@lsixty30 Год назад
@@Omni_Moto yes to everything you said, I just cant understand, besides greed, the prices they charge. The only reason im comparing two entirely different experiences is that price tag. If the cruisers couldnt go as fast or handle as precicely, but did everything that you described for less money, id be %100 on board. But as someone who can enjoy many styles of riding, but who doesnt have tons of money, i cant ignore the bang for your buck you get with the japanese. Even some british bikes highly outperform the american cruisers in terms of features for dollar value. Either way, I dont wanna sound like a hater, and im happy for the owners of these cruisers.
@DeltaElite121

As someone who owns an ZH2 and has also owned a Z125, I can say the fun factor comes from how the bike is built and its intended use. Speed is only so fun, the ride itself is what makes up a majority of the experience. I loved the chief when I test rode it. The bike is a totally relaxed experience with plenty of power to move around in every day situations. It's no liter bike by any stretch, but it isn't trying to be, either. Recommend you go try one for.yourself and you'll see why people like these bikes. I was a skeptic also. I've since change dmy opinion after owning a scout and riding the chief.
