2023 Jetour X70 Plus Review: Is this PHP 1.499M midsize SUV a good deal? 

As per Wikipedia this is a second generation upmarket model from Jetour which they produce in the year 2020.

Great review sir Vince and thanks again for putting the tape to trunks, dispelling the marketing lies that are litres. On that note the trunk starts out pretty wide, but the overall length is just poor for something so big. Im still trying to place this brand in Chery's family, you have the mothership brand which mixes value and premiumness, Omoda which is all premium, but where does this brand fall in? Back to the car, its missing features are just weird, no sensible phone connectivity and no AC for the 3rd row or access to a blower, that third row is really the red headed stepchild of this car😂. I suppose its something to get if you dont have Okavango money(the usual suspects don count because they are just more expensive than this). Personally since im more function over form I would probably save some money and get either the XL7 or Xpander Cross as those are more practical than this and deal with the third row alot better.

It is very tempting to buy a Chinese Car these days, ang gaganda! Pero I still have doubts with spare parts availability and overall reliability.

I have tested the full option version of this car and I can say in this price range Its worth a lot. The full version one has 1.6 liter turbo engine with 7 speed DCT and lots of options like very nice and smooth ambient lighting , a very good sound system and lots of safety features like adaptive cruise and blind spot radar and a lot more. After a small drive test I can say it is reasonably good to use as daily driver.

Most Chinese cars can have it all against its competitors. But one thing that they don't excel is in driving ergonomics.

Geely Okavango is actually Proton X70 in Malaysia (Proton Malaysia is partly owned by Geely).

looks like Okavango. Priced almost the same as Okavango. but Okavangos interior is better and bigger.

The Japanese and Korean brands (even the US brands and mainstream European brands such as VW) should still offer econoboxes so that there won't be any gaps in their offerings, and I'm sure they know that. Toyota sell more Wigo/Vios and Avanza/Innova than Altis and Fortuner. What they should focus on is the sub-700k price range. Not long ago you can buy a brand new base Vios for under 600k.

If you;'re gonna copy design, better copy from everyone. This is a perfect example. 😂. Hints of Ford, Mazda, etc. outside, hints of Mercedes (!!!) inside. Then slap on a French-sounding Jetour name, then you're good to go.
