Wow! I just watched your video with my wife and son and we are all in amazement at your wonderful collection. So awesome! It was great when you got to my carvings my son was watching on my lap and said "Look Daddy there are your carvings!" A huge smile erupted on my face. So honored to have a little piece of me in your great collection. Thanks for the shout out too. Definitely want to make a trip out there someday. Looking forward to watching the continued evolution of your LOTR museum :)
Hello Benjamin, my name's Marky, from Indonesia. I have to say your treasures are marvelous! Appreciate you sharing the video. I wish I could visit you first hand one day.
Been waiting for this! Really awesome dude, one of the most epic LOTR collections of all time... so many unique and custom pieces, such a fun tour video. I believe the guy who made the Arkenstone and the Palantir is John Lowe (from Dreamspheres). BTW I love the ring display with all the characters on the sides, looks so good! and the John Howe Smaug 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you, Ryan!! Yes, John Lowe! I am excited to be able to show the rings off a little more being in a better spot to enjoy them. Thanks so much and I appreciate your comment.
@@BenjaminSchenk a Great collection! just making sure, you have UV protecting film on your windows right? many people forget this step and ruins many priceless collectables!!!
Absolutely love your collection. Just awesome and fantastic. So many great pieces. Really looking forward to seeing more items come in the near future to your displays. 😁😁👍👍
Another great collection tour video Ben. It's always a pleasure to come to visit your awesome collection, even though it's not in person, but it's very enjoyable nonetheless. I'll be sure to catch the Lord of the Collections pod cast too. See you there.
Hello Benjamin, I like your videos very much, they inspire me for my own collection of weta statues and film props, I've been following your channel for a good 3 years and I think it's really nice to see how your room changes with each of your videos keep it up.
Lovely collection, I've a promotional life size Arragorn vinyl glass window poster from a fast food outlet and peter Jackson as a hobbit which is cool.
I think I’d be a little misty eyed if I ever get to come see this majestic museum in person… I’m in Texas but would love to plan a vacation up there just to meet you and see your treasures.
This is An Amazing Collection! As a Tolkien channel. I must say, This collection could never be to Greedy or to deep, Keep collecting. Find all the Balrogs! lol jokes aside, I love it so much! I have a pretty big collection I have been working on for 18 years myself. But yours is a Masterpiece of Tolkien awesomeness! Thanks for video! =D
Hello there, you would not belive what one small figure that popped up on me on some auction site caused. I got nostalgy train back to 2006 when our entire class in elementary school was crazy about battle for Middle-earth game. I really really wanted some Isengard berserks back then. Dad told me - you would have to paint them - you sure? I was like oh...not really. Well now I found out about this little Eaglemoss figures - guess who is building an army worthy of the Mordor now. Found out there is 18cm tall Uruk-Hai in armor figure from Diamond Select - Tubbz Uruk-Hai Pikeduck and even the Lego has Urukhai with complete armor. I was eager to even build Orthranc - but found out that it is only 23 cm tall - would be strange if 18cm Uruk-Hai would have only few centimeters bigger Orthranc above him. Ah what a nostalgy. Nice collection btw!
I am so happy for this next update. You have such a wonderful collection (one of the top 2 I have seen), and all your videos are a pleasure to watch. Are you getting the new Helms deep thats hopefully coming in December?...I can't wait to add that one to my collection. Cool; I see the Cyber Hobbit watches your channel as well!
Thank you for checking out the video and for your comment. I have not ordered the new Helms Deep but plan to pick it up. It looks like it will be a home run.
@@BenjaminSchenk i know its different here in the uk and a much smaller scale but i would often go to a collectormania event and would be drooling over the elvish jewellery, i got a few prints though 😊
I’m watching this from the UK and I’m so tempted to book a flight over to see this collection 😂 it’s absolutely amazing! Hope your move goes smoothly! Will you still have the collection open to see in the new home?
Thank you. Yes, I will have it open for viewing. I am currently renovating the primary home and hope to start work on the collection space in the near future. I will add updates here as things start coming together.
Impressive and amazing as always! You are the only other person I've seen with the 20 rings of power on display, I have them all by Medioevo so they are screen accurate(as much as they can be anyway) Also that way I can afford them since Noble rings are so expensive!
Thank you !! I really enjoy having the completed ring set on display. I am glad to hear there is another with it too. You are right, the Noble set has gotten very pricey in recent years.
Wow, that was a great tour. Could you point me to a source to get Dr. Malcolm's Doors of Durin. I like it better than WETA's but I can't find a source online.
I recommend joining the Lord of the Rings Collectors groups on Facebook and asking there. That is likely your beat shot to find a collector with one for sale.
Thank you. They were custom pieces made in a very low edition size by an artist named Kyle. It is sold out now, but you may be able to find someone selling on Ebay or on The Lord of the Rings Collectors pages.
Just amazing. You are totally right in thinking less is more, the room really breathes now. Two questions for you, would you be adding any Rings of Power props to the collection should any become available? (I would love Feanor's hammer personally). And two, one of my dreams is to own a prop that was actually used in the movie, how difficult would that be to acquire?
Thank you. I may own a prop or two depending on who made it and the quality. Feanor''s hammer is a very good choice. It depends on what you are trying to get, a film used Glamdring might set you back $250,000, or a piece of Smaug's hoard a few 100. You can sometimes find stuff like the Smaug's hoard piece on Ebay. You need to be careful for fakes though.
I started with LOTR action figures and gradually built up to the more expensive pieces. I would recommend being patient when looking for rarer pieces and always pay with PayPal goods and services.
Always great to get a look at your amazing collection Ben! The faux bronze Smaug was essentially recalled due to some horrible warping on the wood veneer bases and they made new ones with the faux marble and you had to destroy the original to get your replacement (I had to with mine) and it seems you got the remnants of one of those? As for me making more desks, I'm sorry but that is an extensive personal project that I won't be replicating unfortunately.
Thank you for your comment and that bit of information on the John Howe Smaug. That makes a lot of sense on why you do not see many. I always knew it was a fool's hope on your beautiful Bilbo desk but I had to mention it. I always think of it every time I see the Weta piece.
I'm surprised you didn't go for the Life Size Sauron Bust from Infinity - or any of the newer 1/3 statues. Did you think about getting it? Or do you keep the older ones on purpose?
I do have the Legolas and Gandalf 1/2 scales ordered. I also have the lifesize ringwraith bust. I do believe that I will look to pick up Sauron too. I do not have any plans to sell any line currently. I also have a number of the Prime 1 1/4 scale pieces and the Queen studios lifesize Balrog bust but simply no room as of now to display them. I have a few ideas to reorganize.
Hi! I've been creeping on your Zillow listing where you are selling your house. (This how I became aware you're a collector) and I noticed picture 27 (far left side) on your Zillow listing has the White Witch from Chronicles of Narnia next to several Witch Kings of Angmar. What is she doing there? XD I was zooming in on your grainy Zillow pictures to admire your Tolkien stuff, but then noticed Jadis immediately because I collect White Witch stuff myself lol. Is she leading the Ringwraiths to battle in the next book? Are you holding on to her for a friend? It was just funny a Narnia piece was randomly in there with all of your Tolkien pieces. Any more secret easter eggs in your collection like that?
Hello!! The house is for sale in Parma, Ohio. It is actually a non production piece from Weta that I acquired from the collection of a Weta artist. I have a few unreleased helms for the Narnia series, too. It is just in the room as I am getting ready to pack the whole collection up for the move.
@@BenjaminSchenk Ah that's why it looks a bit different around the base. The dwarf is missing and it seems like she's surrounded by shards of ice maybe? I actually like that a lot better than what they officially released! I hate the dwarf lol (I left him in the box). I just want the Ice Queen.
Ya know what, I can tell you something I absolutely hate, it’s people like you. Stop telling me how long your video is getting I WANNA SEE YOUR COLLECTION! Haha I’m just teasing man I love everything about it!🤘🏼
