Hats off to you for trying to eat better on trail my friend! I feel that when I am on trail I eat nothing but garbage foods. Will say that when I quit drinking I lost 45 lbs and I am now able to eat whatever without gaining weight. Will say that most of the artificial sweeteners have more negatives than positives in my eyes so I tend to get the fully loaded carb filled goodies for the trail. Hope you are doing well my friend!
Congrats on the sobriety bud! That's a HUGE accomplishment! 🙌 Yeah I'm trying out there! My will power doesn't always hold out and I always get the post hike garbage! But there are some pretty awesome options for the trail that hold up well out there so I enjoy it!
I use carb balance/lower carb tortillas. They aren’t truly keto but they are soft and taste good. They last for weeks. You keep eating fiber gummy worms and you’re going to become a “real hiker” 😂 I love the true lemon!
Hahaha I'm just a poser! I'll take em out and put them in a more popular gummy worm brand bag lol! It's true, if you go more 'dirty keto' you can get more field stable options that will last longer out there.
La Banderita’s Carb Counter Street Taco Flour Tortillas are pretty good. They’re KETO certified and zero net carbs and also stay fresh forever. I too have used the Carb Balance tortillas and they are great also.👍
For a low-carb meal replacement, I like Keto Chow. They use sucralose as the sweetner. Most flavors are sweet, but they also have several soup bases - beef, taco, chicken, and tomato. You can make the meal as thick or thin as you like and you can use your favorite source of fat. Each meal an be adjusted to your calorie target for the day by adjusting the amount of fat added to the meal. Another meal replacement I use are Keto Bricks. Each "brick" is 1000 calories of clean ingredients. Protein source is either grass fed whey or plant protein. The sweetener is stevia leaf. Both products have worked well for me when camping and overnight hiking. Thanks for the video! I'm always looking for low-carb options for the trail.
Thanks for watching! Haven't heard of em so I checked them out. Sucralose is more dirty keto but their soup bases look legit 👍 However, due to the limited options I dabble with dirty keto if I want to stay low-carb on trail. Thanks for the tip!
I bring keto snacks to munch on. Electrolyte mixes with erythritol, but I will have a Stowaway Gourmet meal for dinner. We usually hit a greasy spoon diner on the way home and load up with cheesesteaks and fries. When you're doing 40K steps a day on a hike, I'm not that concerned.
