In the 17 months we've had our Lucid Air Dream Performance, I can't tell you how many videos I've watched where the reviewer gets factual details about the car wrong or confuses the specs of one variant versus another. This video nailed every single detail correctly, which indicates the reviewer has actually done his homework on the car. We are also on our second Tesla (a 2021 Model S Plaid that replaced our 2015 Model S P90D), and as one can readily infer from this review, the Air is the better car: better handling, better ride, quieter, more luxury features, considerably more interior room, and a much more solid structure. The one area in which Lucid lagged Tesla for almost a year was in software. However, the introduction of UX 2.0 last October and the subsequent frequent updates have largely erased that gap. In fact, the Air has some software features that better Tesla's: accurate parking distance indicators, front- and rear-cross traffic braking, birds-eye-view, dual satellite map screens that let you display compass orientation and direction of travel independently at different zoom levels, Apple CarPlay (with Android being added soon), the ability to play a USB music stick in the car, and a Dolby Atmos sound system. Moreover, some of the most frequently-used controls are duplicated in the Lucid with manual switches, giving a more convenient way of operating certain features when the car is moving.
@@alexr6363 Oops, I missed that. You are correct. However, even though he called the car a "stealth edition" in the opening, at the 1:50 mark he mentioned that you could also get the stealth package which has a "metallic blacked out" effect. So it does appear he knows what the stealth package is and that this car did not have it. So, yeah, confusing.
@@Allcarnews sorry I listened again to the video missed heard when you said the stealth was being charged and when you were talking about the head lights I thought you were saying that it was in the stealth style of the trim. My bad.
@@Allcarnews My bad, too. I also misheard what you said. Again, kudos for such accurate reporting of a Lucid's features and details. Few reviewers have done as well. I've even seen "Motor Trend" and "Car & Driver" video and written reviews where they refer to the Lucid's air suspension -- something it does not have (or need).
I just realized how much this looks like the Toyota Crown, but obviously this is much more groundbreaking. I like that the sound doesn’t seem to bounce around like a tin can, somewhat like a school bus.
I and another reader made the same mistake in mishearing what the reviewer said. He said there was a stealth package car at the event he was attending, but it was not available for him to drive. A bit later in the review (around 1:50) he shows the roof and explains what is different about it and the stealth package. This reviewer is one of the few I've seen who goes over so many factual details of the car without getting a single one wrong.
@Blake Springpasture Mortimer Okay, but he clearly said stealth. I didn't hear anything about "package" immediately afterward. If he discussed the platinum look after his blunder first, that's great he actually got it right and should have edited the mistake out. I almost stopped watching the video after that.
@@Babyrocko1908 You really ought to pay more attention. I made the mistake you did but apologized to the reviewer when I realized it. You, however, persist in the error even when pointed out to you. In the description of the video, the reviewer wrote, "I like the design personally and I wish I could drive the new Stealth edition though it was charging when I had my chance to drive." Then, in the opening audio he said, "now we do have the stealth edition here today at this test event though it ran out of battery because everybody was driving it so much, so it is charging right now . . . ." So nowhere did he claim the specific car he was reviewing had the stealth package. He made it very clear he was at a demo event where a stealth trim car was present but that it was not available for him to drive.
