Tim Staples is an author and apologist at Catholic Answers. He was raised as a Southern Baptist, and then became a youth minister in an Assembly of God community. After being challenged to study the Catholic faith by a fellow Marine during his final year of service in the Corps, Tim converted to Catholicism in 1988, after which he studied for six years for the priesthood, first at St. Charles Borromeo in Overbrook, PA and then Theology at the graduate level at Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, MD. In 1994, realizing that the priesthood was not his calling, he left the seminary and has been a Catholic apologist and dedicated to evangelization ever since.
