Mostly it's so the bats last longer, last time he followed the instructions to break in a bat and it totally blew up with him swinging it while following the suggested break in procedure. Basically these bats are a consumable, and hitting the stuffing out of them isn't exactly a fair representation of how they will preform with the bat speed that they were intended to be used at.

@@baseballbatbros can you bring some younger kids in to hit the -12 LS Meta One piece. There is literally nothing about that bat on RU-vid. Could do the 2022 vs 2023. Or the one piece vs two piece. Or shoot it out against another one piece composite. Thanks guys. Keep up the great work!

2023 select pwr better than both of those honestly. I’ve swung every bbcor meta, and every bbcor select pwr. I’ve never really had a feel close to what the newer select pwr was. It’s insane. The meta is great for singles and speedy doubles.

just a repaint - I'd get the old version for cheaper if you want to get a Meta.

I think they may have felt like the 2021/2022 was too difficult to break-in for the younger end of USSSA players. The 2023 is a little hotter out of the wrapper.

@@steves8977 if you get a Demarini I highly recommend the voodoo one. It’s a great bat, my fiend has one and I’ve used it.

It’s more of a contact bat, overall well blanched though.

Yes switch to an alloy endloaded bat. U have really good Velo so I would get maybe the goods or the nuke. The Nuke 2 is my personal favorite bat and my gamer.

Typically go up in length or drop but do it at the same time may cause trouble. That being said 28/18 is on the small side for a 10 year old, maybe it’ll be easier transition. Try to find something cheap in 29/21 to let him try.

@@nukeboys4080 That's pretty much how I felt. He's actually 9 still but turns 10 in a couple of months. I think I'll go with the drop 10 at first and then see. He does hit with a 28 drop 6-8 Tatis Jr wood bat off an Iron Mike at 55 mph from 34 ft. My gut instinct is that he could handle the drop 8 but I don't want to make it too difficult on him going to a longer bat. I definitely appreciate your comment.
