Testing the Brand New K&F Concept 2-6 (ND4-64) Stops Variable ND & CPL Polarizers Filter 2-in-1 filter. I believe it was announced at the end of 2022. It is one of their NANO-X Series Filter.

Remember that an ND filter is made up of two polarizers which rotate against each other, so moving the ND lever is changing one of the polarizers. You can test this by looking through the filter at a source of polarized light, such as a laptop screen. You will notice that moving the ND lever changes the polarization greatly. This is why you should first set the ND control, then make your polarization adjustments. So it really isn't that important for the polarization adjustment to stay stable as the ND is being adjusted, since you need to adjust the polarization last anyway.

@@chilodaone the nd filter darkening is created in a similar way to how polarisers work, hence it will have a slight polarisation effect when you change it to create a darker/brighter image. After getting your exposure with the nd you then change the polariser adjustment to get the desired polarisation effect. I dont know if this is true or not, i am just changing the words, it does make sense though as polarisers also have some effect on exposure. Hope this helps

Excellent video. Looks like above 30 mm focal length, you shouldn’t have any issues, but I wouldn’t use it for any wider.

Could you do it like with normaln picture profile? Non slog and iso 800. But no PP. And iso 100? It would say more about this filter. I ask because its far the best vid i found about this filter on whole yt ;)

@@costtv Hi I have not use many nd filters to be qualified to give solid recommendtion. However I think k&f nd filter is pretty good and not too expensive.

Does it soften sharpness when using a zoom lens like a 200mm or 600mm?

I have one. I have not done any comparsion. You should be able to get 1 more usable stop. It cost more than 1-9 and I just think 1-9 is all I needed. But if you can spend a bit more it is certainly a good one.

No. I have one 2-32 from them. But I still always go with the 1-9 stops one. Even though the 1-5 stops has hard stop and no x pattern, the 1-9 is more versatile. You just need to know how it behavior. On wide angle the usable stops is 5-6 stops, but on telephoto you can use 7-8 stops without x pattern. So I still prefer the 1-9 version from k&f

I just tested. Yes you can. One size up. For example If you bought 67mm, you need 72mm filter size to mount in front.

Base iso for log is 800. You want to film at base iso for widest dynamic range. The FX30 allows you to go below base iso in flexible iso mode, but you will do so at the expense of dynamic range.

Actually that's not a good idea when using any kind of LOG footage. You should block the ISO to the native value, that's how you get the most dynamic range. In shots like this outside you need as much dynamic range as possible.
