Crazy to think the R35 used to be criticized by some for feeling digital. 15 years on and it’s now quite analog in a world of so many sports cars gone even more digital.
@@Userxxx840 the c6 zr1 still holds up too but for the time that the R35 was released, at around $70k original msrp, it put many supercar manufacturers on notice. Also the first car to really start the whole launch control craze that I can recall. Ferrari had it too on the 430 but the brutality of the 4k rpm clutch dump still holds up, at the cost of a few early transmissions.
@@alexandrubaginean7369 Saying a car feels analog or digital does not just refer to the interior tech/features. Its mostly about how the car feels to drive and experience as a whole. Whether it feels mechanical and raw or removed and dampened etc.
Rented a 2018 for a weekend... and my god. I couldnt stop driving it. Never was a big fan until I drove one. Fell in love. I daily a 600whp STI and I still miss driving that GTR.
The GTR is such a classic. Love it or hate it, and plenty of people do, it has been an icon in car culture and it's great seeing you do a revisit of it!
Still one of my favorite cars. I was 15 when it first came out in 09'. I agree with you subtopher, just an iconic design and car. I had a buddy who owned one that his parents bought for him, what a beast of a car. Just FUN.
Future classic. I’ll never forget going around VIR in one when they first came out, the midrange punch and gravity defying brakes blew me away. It’s far more analog than it gets credit for.
Absolutely love this car 😍 still a dream car of mine, even though I'll more than likely never be able to afford it. Always a joy to see one, especially in person 🔥🔥🔥
Just had a sneaky quick drive of a 2008 Premium example and can testify the hype is justified, it's very raw and mechanical feeling which you don't get it many modern sports/super cars. I've driven some fast cars including a Tesla Model S and can say the GT-R is up there at the top.
Crazy these haven't gone down in price much older ones still 60 70k ..I wish we got 6spd gtr wish they made some with manual even for 1 year be sick 6spd r35
A centered digital speedometer would be nice as well. The awkward analog speedometer reminds me of my frs's, but it remidies that with a centered digital speedo.
The Nissan GTR is impressive, its great speed and appearance makes it compete with high-end cars, just as the GTR 34 remains a car legend, this successor is another level.♥
Yeah i would still never complain about this car from 09 to now. Whenever anyone even feels like complaining about it i would just suggest driving it and then yeah. Not much left to complain about
I know people hate it cause it’s still analog. But it’s still an iconic vehicle and super fun to drive. Only thing it could use is a stock turbo update.
I always appreciate when companies go that extra mile to make an engine bay look pleasing. It's easier to just take the modern BMW approach and cover up an eagle's nest of wiring with a goofy plastic cover.
I just noticed this, but are we not gonna talk about the CD player?! Don't get me wrong I love carplay, but the ability to play CDs really is an impressive feature in a new car!
I love nissan and will continue buying them but for so many years why does nissan continue to use the window switches and mirror as my 2008 nissan altima and pathfinder. Like this goes for pretty much all their cars. I guess thats what makes them profit and easy to repair.
Sometimes I pretend my Elantra N is a GT-R lol. Maybe it’s the performance page and dual clutch that gives off those vibes. Of course I realize it’s a ridiculous thing to think ha ha.
2017 and up cause of the huge refresh. However 20 and up is best cause they revised the turbos to spool faster and allot of other mechanical upgrades you can't see,, such as brakes and suspension.
Nissan is too broke for make an R36 unfortunately. They lost too much R&D money due to low sales of their normal cars. That’s why the current Z isn’t so good. It’s because Nissan can’t afford good R&D. They just have to make their normal cars better and more reliable, and maybe we can see an R36 soon.
Freezing cold take lmao. My pops had an 08 GTR with a Stillen full exhaust and it sounded *good*, but putting it in the same ballpark as an LFA... cmon man
Car is stunning from the outside, but I must say that the interior feels dated for 2023. I also wish that the engine cover color (red in the video) would match the car color.
Yes this car is essentially 17 years old at this point, but it is still one of the quickest accelerating sports cars that money can buy. I know Nissan is infamously known for not updating their vehicles often but the GT-R is one of their vehicles that I think still looks better as is than their other vehicles. Plus 565 HP from that 3.8L twin turbo V6 is plenty of power to this day. And yes $123,000 is crazy expensive for this old car but it’s still much cheaper than some of its competitors.
