@drewfinn5369 I would have been ecstatic if Matty O had won his first big tournament at the World Championships. He's been so close so many times, he has to win one soon! However, tying for third with Eagle was very appropriate given how well they played alongside AB. They all deserved to podium!
@@drewfinn5369 Dude is well overdue for his win. Checked the stats and through 18 consecutive world championships he's missed cash once. He's finished ten times in the top 10, and 15 times top 20. This year was his 8th consecutive top 20 finish at worlds.
I saw 2 rounds of 3 players on the lead card absolutely crumble under the worlds pressure, and one who did not.. Grats to Isaac the moment proved to be too big for the kid Redalan this year among others but he'll get his.
Kind of sad how far Disc Golf has fallen. 188k views in 10 days for the final back nine of the world championships. Half the views of last years, and a tenth of the views during the pandemic hype. Great tournament either way. Hope the monopoly bursts next years so the sport can prosper once more.
Awesome work jomez and awesome for isac too win the worlds he clearly deservs it, but for me its just booring golf, same with goose. Dont get me wrong, they are as we see best of the best, but there is nothing in theirs game that is getting me excited too watch them play, and that is abit sad.
Course designers need to stop it with the arbitrary out of bounds near a basket as we see on 18 here. The freak roll away you can't control shouldn't be punishing players with an OB stroke, just make them hit the long putt ffs and keep the spray paint out of the equation.
the final results are insane. Isaac surely deserved it, but Heimburg like insane season. AB strong. Orum i mean get real. He plays like this for years. And then think of the friendgroup around isaac. Gannon 6th, Alden also 6th, Ezra 15th, Gavin 29th. Also imagine the feels. One of your sons just became world champion. the other one 15th in a world championship. Damn
Sure it wasn't really all that close the final round, but the level of disc golf played by Isaac and the chase card was incredible! I would have loved a closer final round and maybe even a playoff, but Isaac absolutely earned that win.
Common sense tells me the person who shot the lowest score deserves to win. Apparently some Mensans feel that others deserve to win "way more", despite not shooting the lowest score.
When his OB was blocked last round, everyone knew Isaac was going to win. Everyone on his card was tilted (particularly my favorite to win, Chris Dickerson) afterwards, and it was all down hill from there. Congrats to Isaac regardless, though. He really did play extremely well.
Quick thinking of the spotter on that 1 hole out of 90 total to put his bag right there in order to give Isaac a better chance... WTF are you talking about dawg? Isaac played lights out.
I'm a single father and this one hit me hard. Happy crying for the podium finishes. McMahon and Robinson were my two choices. Seeing Robinson's Dad as the caddy and knowing McMahon's father has been raising him as a single parent for a long while really made this tournament something I'll never forget. Eagle's Mom passed a while ago. RIP Mrs. McMahon and congrats to all the podium players. I hopee both McMahon and Orum get the same amount in the purse for placing 3rd.
Terry calling him "1 time World Champion" sounds so condescending. I know that wasn't intentional but Jesus, dude. For the 1st question after winning Worlds that's just laughably bad.
There's no telling how the tournament would've unfolded had that not happened, maybe he broke down mentally and completely lost his game etc, so there'll always be an asterisk next to his win.
It could’ve and has happened to others in the past. It’s part of spectators and spotters being on the course. It’s particularly bad for it the be a damn spotter though. Put your shit farther from the damn line!!!
@@tt128556 An asterisk? That seems a little extreme. Over the course of 5 rounds and 90 holes, there are a lot of good and bad breaks that happen. He's about as unflappable as it gets. He had other bad shots that went out of bounds and he was fine.
@@bubbywhips I'm only referring to the fact that Jerm has been kind of overselling Calvin (not to say Jerm isn't one of the best commentators or Calvin isn't one of the best players) in borderline every video whether or not Calvin's in it.
Thanks for the amazing coverage once again Jomez. The music, commentary and editing were really good! I'd say use the song again next year so that can be the special worlds tune. Congrats to Isaac for the win and loved the chase card action between Eagle, Anthony and Matty O!
A very well deserved win. Congratulations. That being said...that would've been such an exciting last round if Isaac had played 3-4 strokes worse haha. The battle for second was intense
This was my first ever event live and what an experience! Shoutout to the staff and volunteers and players. Also shoutout to sexton for the autograph! Was amazing talking to you sexton your the man!
Just an FYI - was following Eric Oakley in round 2. On Hole 16, he put it in bounds about 5 feet longer and 10 feet to the right of where eagle landed @28:46 (not where it finished out of bounds). It was the straightest, purest shot I have ever seen on that hole. Driving the whole tunnel and and staying in bounds happened this year!
A good family, close friends, a loving brother, a strong work ethic and good head on his shoulders, and now a world championship. All money aside and attention that will inevitably come his way, I reckon he’s already won at life.
Man that kid Evan is gonna be a great kid to watch next year!! I will be looking for him to grow fast with this lead card experience under his belt!! Great job Evan Scott!!!!
Best music to date. Kristin intro was fire. Commentary is the reason I don’t watch live DG. The 3MB is legendary. Isaac Robinson is truly a Prodigy! Congrats to an absolutely great disc golfer and dude.
I tell you, Isaac reminds me a lot of a young Tiger Woods in that once he gets a lead, he locks it down. People forget this, but Tiger was actually quite poor coming from behind on Sunday. Most of his wins, he grabbed the lead on Saturday, and then left everyone behind. Isaac seems to do the exact same thing. Amazing calmness. We can only dream of the battles coming over the next 10 years with him, Buhr, Redalen, Barella, Klein, etc. and the "old guys" McMahon and Heimburg. Probably forgetting someone.
Congrats to Isaac for the win. It's been so much fun to watch him over the last couple of years. Severely disappointing that McBeth broke his streak, but I don't think he's one to give up. He showed how much he still has it in Europe this year. Looking forward to next season.
Congratulations Isaac pretty cool to have your dad on the bag for such huge win ! Not gonna lie was hoping Vinny was gonna pull off his 1st worlds it is what it is.
This whole setup was stellar from the music to the story line at the beginning of each 9 to the killer disc golf played by the players. Can't wait til next year kudos Jomez and everyone involved. Congratulations to the 2023 World Champ phenomenal disc golf 💯.
I don't understand how we never saw Hole 10 be aced all week. Out all of the Worlds and GMC coverage I've watched here, I saw more close calls this week! The players these days are absolutely insane!
Well deserved for Robinson. So happy that the win wasn't decided on some unlucky roll in the end. Well Eagle was bit unlucky, but at least the overall victory wasn't down to that. Great player winning in a great competition. (Could the next year be here soon already? :D)
Isaac looked like he was never going to stop throwing birdies! The guy killed it super consistent with his lines and got through the guardian trees almost every time. Super awesome for him, his friends and family very emotional and very fun to watch tourney! 🤘🏼🍻
Jomez you absolutely crushed the coverage. From the music, graphics, all the chase card checkins and of course, the brilliant big sexy berry commentary it was all top notch. To all the people behind the scenes at Jomez that make it happen thank you so much. 🙏
Loving everything about this which is why I'm watching it again from Jomez. Thanks for the commentary and coverage, and gratz to the whole Robinson family!
I would genuinely love to get a longer breakdown at the end of tournaments like this. Uli talked for a bit about overall stats and how things are moving, and it seems like the missing piece of jomez coverage to me. Espn will spend 4 hours saying nothing about one basketball game, and people watch that forever. I'd happily listen to 10 minutes of the commentators thoughts post tourney. Especially when it concerns stats and stuff im never going to look up on my own. Its just cool to hear the experienced guys chat sometimes about the mindblowing stuff that happens every round now.
No offense to the man, because I know he means well and I'm sure he's a super nice guy but...can we get a real disc golfer to interview the disc golf world champion?
Just a message from myself who is a resident in Great Britain,I think your coverage is excellent with the music also perfect for the event. The sport is relatively new to me but with being a fan of 'normal' golf I really like it.I've been watching the last four world championships through youtube and it's a kind of addictive, the skills of the players is incredible. This sport has the potential to go worldwide with the right support. Many thanks again.
