Well, I haven't commented in a bit, but Game #2 HAS A SCORIGAMI! The 11-7 win by the Predators is the first time in MLW History that this score has occurred. Congrats on the 1st SCORIGAMI of 2023!

TCIII and his resurrection as a top power hitter/RBI guy is such a great story. Underrated element of the Robles effect is his assistance in helping Tommy rediscover his swing and (most importantly] his passion for the game. I'm 100% here for it

the preds are such a special team it's impossible to not like them. They're dynamic is some of the best in the sport, and the fact that in one game they could not score a single point and lose by a lot, and in the next they could win by 10 points. It makes every preds game a special experience that i love.

My attempt at calculating batting fWAR for some MLW players so far this season: There are multiple things to note about this, most fielding parts of WAR are completely ignored in this because MLW doesn't track things like UZR (understandably). I've also only done 10 so far and will continue to do more when I have the time. Because of this, some numbers are affected because they rely on league averages but they're pretty close. And one last thing, these numbers have all been scaled up to account for the MLW season being 15 games long instead of 162. Player: Total WAR (Pitching WAR) Jordan Robles: 7.2 (3.1) Jimmy Knorp: 5.8 (2.1) Ryan Kracht: 5.0 (3.1) Kyle Schultz: 4.4 (1.8) Dallas Allen: 3.7 (2.2) Tommy Coughlin III: 3.0 Brennan Russell: 1.7 Grant Miller: 1.6 (-1.2) Alec Warda: 1.1 Daniel Schultz: -1.0 (-0.8) here's my spreadsheet so you guys know these aren't just made up numbers, and I'm using mlw stats posted on their website: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ir8gjEsILalsMw3EizAnMjdEpBMA1h0zmBs46V74_8I/edit?usp=sharing

Great series from Coughlin, Robles is always fun to watch and is a fun personality. I'm a Dbacks fan but Mallards are up there for me, rooting for the Magic too this year. A lot of fun rookies to watch. Come to DC/Baltimore!

Scoring note. I believe Kracht should be credited with a Save in Game 2, as the game-tying run was at the plate. He gives up a GS to Robles there, and Kracht becomes the pitcher of record. A minor detail, since the Save is so rare in MLW, but still interesting for those career stats.

Seven total HRs in this series including four by TCIII who is making a strong bid for league MVP! Davenport got absolutely destroyed in Game 2 but I guess stayed in bc Mallards had no one else? Props to the Predators who are off to a rough start this season but did their part to make this such an entertaining series! Well done everyone!

With the small field this has to be the MLW’s equivalent of Coors field. It was very similar to watching a game at Cultz field the ball just flies out of the stadium. Was really fun to watch. Game one showcases how dangerous the mallards can be. With Robles dealing on the mound and him and Tommy both going yard (four times in a series in insane) we can see how electric this team can be when at their best. Great job Kyle and the rest of MLW this season is already historic and I’m looking forward to what MLW brings us for not just the rest of the season but for the future as well.
