The reason you buy this and not the power wagon is cause the tow capacity with the power wagon is incredibly low. this model was released based on feed back. people wanted something like the wagon but with out the drawbacks of losing all that towing capacity
Rebel hd can tow up to 17k with 4:10 gears. Power wagon limited to around 10k. Power wagon is extreme off-road capable, rebel hd is off road oriented and can tow a hefty amount especially for 3/4 ton. Rebel for me
Like the Rebel but went with the Power Wagon, a little better off road though it is a high hood to see passenger side. Switched to 35 Toyo AT3 Tires and 17 Method rims, I enjoy it.
I freakin love this new HD Rebel! I haul and tow a lot of firewood and while I absolutely love my ‘21 Rebel, it is lacking in the payload and towing department. But now this HD Rebel is perfect for my needs. Really thinking about trading in my Rebel for this. Found one in Pennsylvania for just over $67k. So very tempting.
Why get the Powerwagon over this Rebel? The Rebel is a much more capable truck doing truck stuff (minus off-roading) than the Powerwagon and with the 6.4, it “out trucks” the diesel version of the 2500 Rebel. No thanks, I’ll get the 6.4 2500 Rebel all day long!
Love it. If they didn’t make the TRX I’d be in one of these. I love the 392 engine. It’s perfect engine and the sound is amazing. I own 3 Hellcats-Charger,Durango & TRX and don’t get me wrong i love them and they sound insane but i miss and regret selling the Durango SRT with 392 in it. It was just a different fun. Might have to get the Jeep 392 just to have that engine back. I’m a contractor and i seriously would be all over this if i needed a new one. A 392 and 410 rear end. Yeah baby! I don’t like how the hood looks similar to the TRX tho. What is it with Dodge? Make very different hoods for everything! You should definitely put all trucks into tow mode and push and hold traction control for 10 seconds or so so the complete traction Nannie’s are off so the truck will take off fast and tow mode will have you banging thru gears on any truck practically.
I bought my 22 pw in late 2021. Same options as this truck. I realize payload/towing is much lower but the increase in price is stupid. My powerwagon was $65k.
Too much rim and not enough sidewall. Only $21,000 more than my 2022 mid level Power Wagon which has the front and rear lockers, sway bar disconnect, 12,000 pound Warn winch and Ram boxes. Yeah sign me up for that Rebel - not.
Why on earth does this truck not come with 35” tires ? That is flat out ignorant of Ram to not have bigger tires and aux fuel tank of dual 35 gal tanks
@@fscottgray9784 but nobody is buying a truck just to off road. And the majority of people who buy a PW are not hard core rock climbing. The better buy is the Rebel.
With the F-250 and F-350 Tremor you can get the diesel engine or gas engine and also get the built in winch with the diesel engine unlike with Ram you can't get the winch with the diesel but with Ford you can
The Power Wagon is the alpha dog in the truck world. The Rebel is too much $$ for a second place truck. The Power Wagon isn’t just a little bit better off-road, It’s a lot better off-road like in another ZIP Code in performance over the Rebel. On paper or in the real world, comparing the Rebel to a Power Wagon makes no sense.
depends on what you are using it for. if only off-road with no towing then yes the power wagon. But if you want to actually tow more than what you can with a 1/2 ton truck then the rebel is the way to go and you will still have a truck that you can take off-road
Because the diesel would've made it 95k and it can't haul as much as the other 2500s because of the suspension. Applies to PW when talking about towing comparing the 6.4 hemi as well.
You have some kind of inadequate cult of diesel in your country. Modern diesel with all its complexity is a crystal vase! More often to serve, more expensive to serve, 10 thousand more expensive when buying, fucking heavy! What would that be? Not if the truck is bought to transport the rail-laying machine on a permanent basis, then approx. Otherwise, why?????? Despite the fact that atmospheric HEMI is beautiful. It has enough power, it digests everything, and is as reliable as an army knife!
What's the point of nonfunctional add ons that you pay for. My question is why would you buy a heavy duty truck that doesn't have the engine to do heavy duty. Put my 16ft dump trailer full of concrete (68,000lbs) behind that truck and see what happens. Yes I have done that with my cummins 08 slt,, I also own a Cummins 13 flatbed and a Cummins 14 Larimer that I have pulled a 3 bed 2 bath 16' x 70' trailer house with. Exhaust breaks make all the difference as to why I would never own a gas engine heavy duty truck.
because not everybody tows heavy loads with a 3/4 ton truck. A lot of overlanders like the extra payload capacity of a 3/4 over a 1/2 ton. This was never aimed at the work truck crowd. Your argument is pointless
I got my 75th AE PW largely based on your video 2yrs ago. Absolutely love it. Paid sticker ($68k) and was satisfied with the sale. Now I see this Rebel and I can't figure it out. My local dealer has a new rebel, an entirely dressed down and inferior version of the PW for $96k! What in the drank the Kool aid is going on here??
I also have a 75th anniversary PW. It is an off road beast with a limited interior. More payload and you lose the nice ride articulation. Not sure what this offers that a Laramie 2500 couldn't be for 20 grand less. Also that winch is handy as heck. Weird build. Hoi e for Ram and I sell them.
Actually it’s not “inferior” at all. I see the Rebel as a step up from the PW. The only thing the PW does better is off-road fun. Everything else, this new Rebel is waaayyyy better
