2023 Road Glide 3 - The First Week Thoughts 

Fellow newbie to trikes too.After 30 plus years on two wheels. Mine is a converted Softail. All I can say is that you have relax and take it at pace that is comfortable for you.

Very good video brother, I'm loving my new late 22 tri glide w/ 400 miles so far. I put a lot of custom dynamics lights on already just a few more to go. After 55 yrs. on 2 wheels and owning 60+ bikes and 750k on 2 wheels. I wish i bought a 3 wheeler a decade ago. I'd never go back to 2 wheels. Even if i could, I'm 64 and a disabled vet. Keep them videos comming, and ride safe!..

That is a sweet looking ride. Like yourself, I rode the three wheeled ATCs, in So. Cal. deserts and yes, they do tip over 😎

I've been riding a Tri Glide since 2018. The steering does take some adjustments but it's not too hard to get used to. It's easier to push than to pull so for most of my steering, I keep the elbow of the outside arm rigid and rotate my shoulder a little. You do have to respect the turns/curves more than on two wheels. If you go into a curve too fast, it's possible to make the inside wheel come off the pavement but if you roll off the throttle, you'll be fine. Although leaning isn't really necessary on a trike, in a curve you can feel a bit like you're sliding off the seat and leaning slightly to the inside fixes that. It's pretty much impossible to actually slide off but you can get that sense.

I had been seriously looking into getting one, but the numbers just didn't work out for me and I needed to see one in person but all the dealers I spoke to told me that HD hadn't shipped any out at the time. I am looking forward to seeing what additional updates that you make although it is pretty hard to see you needing to do anything to it as it stands now. Godspeed!

I have a 2019 Tri Glide, which I got after I had to move to three wheels from my 2013 Road Glide Ultra. If I had known this was coming down the road before I just got done dropping $8k in engine, suspension, bars, seat, and sound upgrades, I'd have gotten the RG3. I absolutely love the look of the RG3.

My wife wanted to learn to ride so I got her shadow 600. Just after I get it she had 3 strokes and walks with a cane most of the time, but she still wants a bike so I told her it will have to be a trike now, and here I am. I'm trying to get a feel for what she likes and so far it looks like a can am. Anyway I see today that a Bucees is approved for the god forsaken busy 326. Good luck out there. Later .

Small world !! I live in Pinellas and purchased my Tri Glide at warhorse HD. If you have not already bought the lowers, check out the video from the company in Tennessee. He just posted an install on a Roadglide 3 with fairing lowers.

Highway pegs help tremendously in hard cornering. Look up Ciro3D, theirs attach to the floorboard mounts, real sturdy.

I've been riding Harley's since the mid 1970's. I've had Fatboys, Heritage and a 2018 Limited Electra Glide. In 2019 I required a Triple Bypass and could not handle the weight. So I traded for a new 2020 Road King which I really enjoyed. However I began to feel pain trying to back it up out of my garage. My Heart specialist advised buying a small cycle such as Fat Boy. My wife really enjoys riding and the Fat Boy is just too small. I'm 73 and we both decided on buying a Tri Glde. I never rode one so it took extra time to get use to it. It doesn't have the feel of a 2-wheeler but the ride is fantastic. Having reverse is great! Hope your enoying yours! John

CD does make a fender light as well for the front of the fenders that act like turn signals as well. I will say trikes have a huge advantage over 2's when it comes to long distance riding without a doubt. Can say as for how fast they can go I will say might not be as fast as 2s but pretty close to it. Looks good though still wanting to see one personally and the one dealer nearby me got one in and it was sold in no time after it was on the floor the same day.

I have an engine guard it just depends on what your looking for. If your adding speakers it will definitely be a haul

It looks like I'm in the same boat as you. I did 5 years in the Marines; I just retired from my cop job and will moving to Zephyrhills. I'd like to get a job at a HD dealership. I currently ride an 07 Road Glide, but I really like the Road Glide 3. Honestly the only thing I don't like about the bike is the Road King emblem on the tank. I like the black on black model.

I have a rattle on the right side of my road glide 3. It's only 3 months old. Had it in the shop ,they can heat it but have no idea where it is coming from. Any suggestions?

My wife and I have been riding since the 70's on Shovel Heads, Evo, twin cam and now M-8 Tri Glide Ultra as of 2021 when our local dealer put it on the show room floor. After you start riding a trike, you quickly learn that the stock trike sucks. Plenty of power with the 114, but in general, not a good ride until: If you decide you want a HD trike, forget that MSRP crap. Your dealer is not going to sell you one that cheap. It will cost you at least another $2,000 to get out the door. Then, oh yes then, here come the added expenses. Stock handle bars on the Tri Glide Ultra totally suck. Made for average JO or Joanne, they hurt my wrist from the get go. $1,200 plus. On then right side of the trike is the exhaust and catalytic converter. It gets so hot on your leg it will blister you. It took the finish off my wife's boot. So replacing the exhaust is a must. $1000. Now the suspension on the new HD trike totally sucks. It is very stiff and makes the trike handle like S in the curves. Legend suspension front and back with labor, $2,500. Air box so the damn engine can breathe. To make that change you also have to purchase a tuner. With labor $550. These things are just to make the trike handle and ride better. Now comes the extra stuff you want to put on the bike. Luggage rack, trim lights on the rear fenders, trim under the windshield, tented windshield, Chrome lower forks when you do the suspension, $600. Chrome bumper on rear of trike. Highway pegs, chrome covers for passenger footboard, chrome trim around the fenders. So there you go. When you get finished, with these custom add ones, you will for sure be right at $50, 000 or over. How do I know, cause this is all on my new 2021 Tri Glide Ultra when my wife and I brought it home in May of 2021. Would I do it again, you bet. At 70 years old now, my wife and I can still roll down the road in comfort and pack a lot of stuff for that road trip. If you love riding as we do, at some time, you will most likely own a trike. The biggest reason we own one is my legs just are tired at 70 years old. If you have traveled on a bike, you know just how top heavy they can get packed down. With the Trike, no more worries. Call your dealer, harley makes a stabilizer relocation bracket, it's on the triglide. With that and the road glide ultra or limited fairing support brackets and crash bar. It'll work. Just did one the other day.

Donnie, I’m 6’3” and wonder if the tall boy seat and 14” bars would be the setup for me, too.

Do the parts for the RG3, except for the Road Glide Fairing, also fit the Freewheeler, i.e. are they cross compatible?? Cheers, love the RG3!

Did you notice that all new roadglides have crooked fairing.. keep the handlebars straight and notice the bottome of the display!!!

Hey Donnie, can you tell me more about the wife's experience? on the tallboy seat, any buffetting or wind chop? how tall is she?

Do you have any problem with small stones hitting the oil cooler? Saw one guy put some screening on it. Maybe Harley should come out with a small cage.

Been riding two wheelers since 1968, just bought my first trike, you don’t have to explain why your riding a trike, it’s not a crime, besides the ones that don’t understand will get there sooner or later, keep it in the wind !!!

Needs the other trunk bodywork and tour pack, lowers, 117 and 120th anniversary cvo treatment.
