I bought the 2022 ŠKODA Karoq Sportline. Wow, what a cracker. The get up and go of the 7 speed DSG transmission, adaptive dampers and the sports tuned suspension is just so much fun. Averaging 6.8 ltrs/100 kms on my country driving and in town around 7.5 ltrs/100kms. I love this car so much. I am 198cms tall and the space behind my driving position is still good for passengers. I bought the light grey colour which looks fantastic. I managed to get a demonstrator that had not been driven. Pickup it had 24 delivery kms on it. Paid $53k drive away with the premium pack, side assist with rear traffic alert. Skoda offered a 7 year factory warranty, 7 years roadside assist and the icing on the cake was the included 7 years of free servicing. With its peppy engine and excellent handling I don’t think I could have found a better deal.

I have the 2021 TSI model. It is so worth it last year, for $35K drive away. This years model for slight appearances and a price for $42k, it is a bit pricy. But I would still consider a skoda over a VW.

Well I bought Skoda Karoq from dealer in Melbourne in July 2019 with 1.5 TSI 7 DSG, just for 28K drive away and the new 1.5 TSI engine is excellent, better than this 1.4 TSI and I do not understand why Skoda puts 1.4 TSI in the Karoq as this is the same engine what I had in my Octavia in 2016. Yes Karoq for 44K with this old engine is a little pricey!

Congratulations on a really thorough and informative review. We test drove both variants yesterday. Settled on a Sportline, but the 1.4 was surprisingly agile and fun to drive too!

At 6:32 you call it the Skoda Kodiaq Style, I am sure you meant Skoda Karoq Style. Nice review, it's near the top of my shopping list.

Great review Dan This facelifted Karoq looks really sharp. It’s a very good car. When quoting pricing, u should put a graphic on the screen to advise that u r quoting RRP, before any options and ORC. I think ? the $ 11 k of options on the Style model was the price of having at least two option packs fitted ? Luxury Pack Tech Pack Etc. Etc. Really hope that Skoda Australia finally get a lot more supply from late 2022 / early 2023. 🙏🏻 With good supply, they will then consistently sell over 1,000 new cars per month #simplyclever

No they will not get many cars next year as Czech Republic is running out of cheap energy from Russia, because the stupid Czech Government strongly supports Ukraine and so Russia shut the gas and oil, VW bosses are considering to relocate Skoda from CZ to another country, but next year Skoda as other industries in Czech Republic will struggle.

I’ll buy a CUPRA Formentor V if I’m spending $50-60k, same 140kW engine as the Karoq Sportline but Formentor not only looks sportier, but also runs on the latest MQB Evo platform same as the Golf 8gen. In comparison my wife paid less than $40k drive away on her Karoq 110TSI with premium & travel pack in 2019. And her one was the early Karoq that still runs on the 1.5T with 7 speed DSG, rather than the now cost down 1.4T and 8 speed torque converter automatic 😅

Unfortunately SKODA Australia pure greed tried to take advantage of Australians by increasing prices by up to 50% during the pandemic shortage while the factory only increased prices by 3%. They also replaced the new 1.5L and DSG with the old 1.4L and torque converter on most Karoq models. Other cash grabs include dropping the new entry level fabia models and only bringing in one montecarlo fabia at $40K! We bought an entry fabia at $17K two years ago. They have also reduced base engine size from 1.5L to 1.0L on Scala and kamiq and dropped standard options such as nav and safety features. Shame the local distributor has trashed a great product line

Looks just like a Kia, I mean a Hyundai, I mean a Toyota, sorry like a Nissan, no an Audi………… Let’s face it without a badge you couldn’t tell which of the generic suvs this is.

Not an unfair call, Tom, but it's worth noting that most automotive design is driven by market feedback - when you're trying to sell as many cars as you can, the safe route is to stick with the sort of styling people have proven they'll buy. That said, in Hyundai's defence, that new Tucson has a pretty adventurously brave design to it! - Mike

@@WheelsAustralia no it’s just cheap lazy design. Take a Freelander, a rav 4 and a vitara. The first models. Each has an iconic shape that can’t be confused. You don’t need to read the badges. All are original designs of suvs. Compare them to current designs. You “literally” need to read the badge to tell them apart. The difference is gizmos not design. It’s just lazy. Would you confuse an ML Merc with a GQ Patrol?

@@modelrailwaynoob perhaps they should get more creative design engineers rather than copy and paste.
