I have to pitch in here since I've been riding on this beauty for over two months now. Recall has been resolved very quickly for me since I am using it for work commute, which means I got brand new aftermarket tire that is covered by Suzuki + I'll be getting new tires that are going to be new "OE" Tire for free as well once that is resolved. I went for Michelin Anakee Adventure tire. This bike is absolute beast, I've used "B" Mode for riding for awhile till I broke in first 500 miles, then once I was able to rev in till 7k RPM, that A mode is like using Nitrous on a car. This bike is FAST, and so much fun around twisties. Brakes are amazing, which brings me to suspension issue that I've noticed - when braking hard forks drop down a lot and gets this clunk that seems like they bottomed out - which they did not? Weird issue, but after that first hard break, it doesn't happen again. Which makes me think that I need to adjust the front suspension just a notch so it's not as soft. Out of all things, I bought this bike cuz I am very tall and heavy man and this bike is the most comfortable bike out there (CFMoto ibex800 would be second on the list). I've bought directly from Italy GIVI Airflow Windscreen and now Highway riding is a breeze instead of wind slapping contest. And lastly, I love how quit the exhaust is at cruising speed so that my Tinnitus doesn't get worse and worse. (Yes I am using earplugs as well). Overall, I've tried 6/7 different bikes, and this is 100% the best bike on the market in ADV segment. If you want to do serious mudtrails and sand, get yourself proper light bike for that. So yeah, Tenere is not even a second option, Transalp would take that spot!
I agree with you that this is a fantastic motorcycle, but best bike in the segment is a bold statement. If your version of adventure is mostly road and occasional gravel... than yes, it's one of the best options for that. If your adventures are more off-road oriented (like mine are) I'm choosing my KTM 890 R or the T7 :)
@@lucaambrosini9708 Thank you! I try not to just be in a parking lot or always in the same spot…. I enjoy doing this and hope to steadily improve my production quality.
any word on when the tire recall will be resolved? I tried to buy one of these last week, but I was told they can't sell any of the 800 DE models due to the tire recall. I was hoping they could just swap the tires as that would be the logical solution. But they said they couldn't do anything until Suzuki issues an official service bulletin detailing the fix. Seems pretty silly to me since that's ultimately going to be the resolution anyway. But I guess I'm not a lawyer.... Just a guy that really wants this bike :(
@@thedigitalnothing I totally understand your frustration with this, but the dealership does have to wait until Suzuki officially has a resolution. Otherwise, the dealership is paying for the tire. Sounds lame to a customer… I totally get it, but trust me when I say that the margins are tiny on motorcycle (10%) in most cases. I’m thinking it should not be more than another week or two.
@@Work2Liv_Liv2Ride Hi, I own one and when using proper tires, it can follow any T7. Actually, my friend has a T7 and I often have to wait for him. Same thing withe Africa Twin in offroad usage. The gravity center is alot better on the 800 DE than the T7. What you said about the skid plate and handguard is true.
