Pretty impressed with it. The interior isn’t as bad as they are making it out to be. The 4-wheel drive ya it handled a foot of snow and 6” of slush like a tank. Very happy with it. Our second one. Also no mark up on it. Straight up 77k for the supersonic red platinum. Ken grath in Cheyenne is the place to snag them up. 🎉
My 22 bronze edition Highlander does everything the same way in tech, except I do not have a 360-view eye camera, and mine is a hybrid that does 600 miles on a full gas tank. The same interior cloth and material look just like this Sequoia.
The SEQUOIA badge is a bit too big for me, plus I think it would look nicer on the chrome handle. This is easily remedied though with a heat gun/blow dryer and aftermarket adhesive parts.
It's too bad the interior dimensions are smaller than the older Sequoia - and the loss of the full time 4wd mode - I used that constantly in our 2008 Sequoia, and the 3rd row seatroom was cavernous compared to this one... I have one of these new ones on order however likely will not complete on the purchase - it's not much more interior room than our current Lexus LX... But that new powerplant looks pretty enticing!
I agree 100%. This vehicle is a head scratcher. It doesn’t really fit most use cases the full size SUV crowd is after aside from towing big trailers. It’s a very niche vehicle IMO. Beautiful but not too practical….
agreed- fulltime 4wd is to be expected in body on frame SUVs at this point. They didn't include it to either advertise 1-2 better MPG or plan to release it in the next couple years. Subjectively, this new generation is uglier with the extended front end proportions and dinky headlights- they look smaller in person than on camera. The interior is a big step up but there's quite a few cheap spots, EG armrest + pullout and the seat foundations/plastics are flimsy as hell.
For not being a Sequoia fan I'd say it's pretty nice. Only thing that stands out to me is how low that front valance is, not much ground clearance. I guess it's because all the SUV makers seem so concerned about making the front ends look so big, probably just my complaint lol.
i have special ordered a prius awd back in May 2022, no words from the dealership after 7 months. i don’t understand how Toyota keep their customers happy.
Nice looking on the outside, but seems to be lacking on the inside. Disappointing at that price point that the third row can't lay flat into the floor, i'm assuming that load height will be difficult for people who are shorter.
Nice video ! What's your experience with the car's MPG so far ?? I've heard the new Sequoia's MPG is much lower than Toyota is claiming .....your thoughts ???
@@toyotatalkcanada Thanks, not really much better MPG than the 2nd generation that has the V8....disappointing, both the MPG and the lack of level storage in the back due to the 3rd row seat not fully foldable....thanks again
y has the new design been lowered by 2 inches or something, i have 2018 sequoia was going to upgrade but after seeing the middle seats which do not move and the rear seating and not to mention the truck space, (with a 7 passenger vehicle you need trunk space for 7)
I wouldn't know this was a Sequioa , if I did not look at the badging or nameplate. My only complaints: digital gauge cluster display layout is not customizable and too many lines/angles on the body panel design ; granted these are only personal preferences. I have a 2017.
What is the goal of the front bumper lip? I mean I will lose ground clearance so what is the benefit of having a big SUV Some cars have a soft plastic lip that usually is not affected by hitting a curb but some cars have hard plastic like in my Durango which I really hate.
As a 2015 Sequoia Limited owner and a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro owner, it is puzzling to me how both redesigns are smaller than their predecessors. I have gotten into both vehicles while at the local dealership getting oil changes at two different times, and I was surprised by their internal sizes. I don't think my older teenagers could fit in the back seat of the new Sequoia and not hit their heads. Not only that it is not as wide. Parents, for what they are asking you could buy a used previous gen Sequoia and still come out ahead with the worse mpg do to entry cost. I just bought the 2015 Sequoia Limited because my five kids were getting too adult size for the minivan and the Sequoia was the perfect upgrade for us. I only paid $29,400 for one with 71,000'ish miles on it. I would have to put another 200,000 miles on a brand new on to break even with the entry cost vs fuel on the new units. Get used its worth it.
@Karl with a K winners are doing fine , help the less fortunate , then you have MORE winners , and that is it I am exiting the room on this , all the best and good luck .
Hi sir I am interested to find out whether a right hand drive sequoia 2022 is available anywhere around there world or is the vehicle produced in right hand drive ? E.g Australia?
It is stupid not to have a place to charge the battery and to rely on burning fuel to charge the battery. We put here the idea and beauty of the hybrid.
@@chrisd5383 Why would they intervene? Consumers should be smart enough to say No to those kind of mark ups. If a customer is WILLING to PAY that much why should Toyota stop?
im waiting for my pre order of trd pro to come out...Q1 of 2023 is eta confirmed through the dealership i preordered at... so i can throw some 17 inch and/or 18 inch wheels with 35 or 37 inch beefy tires with 3-6 inch lift!!!
It's really hard to believe how many ways the engineers/designers at Toyota screwed up the cargo area in the new Sequoia. I will be keeping my 4Runner, and loving how simple and how flat that I can make my cargo area. Especially with the rear sliding cargo tray that came standard on my Trail Edition 4Runner. It will be interesting to see how Toyota will manage to screw up the design of the new 4Runner when it finally gets a total redesign.
I like the exterior looks - Ride quality is no longer great like gen 2 due to solid rear axle since its a truck based suspension platform now…..and interior space behind driver seat is a total compromise (even 2nd row head room is not great). I have a gen 2 with 200K on it - so a big fan of Toyota and have been waiting a long time to get the next generation but given the totally screwed up cargo area with that whole idiotic platform system, the fixed second row seat, the lack of space behind the third row, the very claustrophobic interior and shrinking headroom, a none functioning third row good only for kids for a short ride, no 4 Auto, less cargo space, this Sequoia is a no go for me. I understand the reasoning for all the shortcomings and the screwed up result of the design compromises - but nevertheless, a bad design is a bad design and you cant just market it as “Flexible”. Sorry Toyota, you missed the mark big time. Very disappointing. I am sure that once the hype is over, the sales will lag by a huge margin vs. other competitors sales volumes.
If they didn't go to the live axle. Sequoia would have been shelved. Which would have been a double whammy. No land cruiser no Sequoia. 🙅🏿♂️ The chief engineer explained all this last year on other RU-vid videos.
IMO this is a Land Cruiser with a Sequioa badge. Sequoia should be competing with Tahoe/Yukon/expedition etc. This vehicle although highly capable does not fit that market. Compromised 3rd row, terrible cargo capacity, compromised ride because of rear axle. Sure it can tow, but not a great family hauler
Re: 2023 Toyota Sequoia Limited. don't know if it is just the video, but it appears the bench seat in the 3rd row does not have sufficient height to sit comfortably. enjoy your MERRY CHIRSTMAS - 2022. God bless. dec2022.
@@user-xw4vg1vy5e O.K. I haven't actually seen the new Sequoia, but the video gave the impression that it was fairly generous with interior and cargo room....but, maybe not. I have no intention of swapping out my Navigator for many years.
Bridgestone tires suck. The $300 ea. Bridgestones I had on my Highlander Platinum were bald at 14,500 miles. Bridgestone would not honor any warranty, they said "No OEM tires are warrantied" Thankfully I've bought an assload of Toyotas and my dealer had Toyota honor replacing them, however it took over a month to resolve.
