Just purchased 2023 Ford Expedition Timberline. Initially wanted 2023 Toyota Sequoia but the dealership wanted to charge “extra” fees on top of MSRP due to supply shortage. I’m liking the Ford better!

If you value off-road more you’ll probably prefer the solid axle rear end of the Sequoia. If interior space is more important then the independent rear suspension and flat floor of the Ford is the way to go.
@Moon222
@Moon222 8 месяцев назад
Solid Axle is really only beneficial for crawling rocks and arguably for towing. Otherwise, Independent Rear Susepnsion will give a much more comfortable ride, and keep you balanced when speeding offroad.
@evanhall7601

The Expedition is a much cleaner, more mature looking car. Plus the third row seats in the Toyota not being flush with the floor drives me insane.
@alexs3187

I really wanted to like the new Sequoia, but sat inside one at the Utah Auto Show a couple weeks ago. I was really disappointed. I thought the seats (second row particularly) weren’t that comfortable. The third row is worst in class. The Expedition is nice, but needs a big refresh now. I think it’s hard to beat the interior of the Wagoneer, it’s just weird that Jeep doesn’t make an off-road/overlanding version of it. They need a Trailhawk!

The best thing that can happen is no one buys them and the prices will be forced to drop down. They really need to be 10k less than what they are asking for.

Since the Toyota does not offer 4x4 auto, how fast can it drive (safely) in 4x4 high? I have a 2018 Cadillac Escalade with this feature and this is the only thing holding me back from purchasing this model. Any help would be much appreciated.

I’d take the Ford. The Yota would blind me by the sun with those hideous hood gashes and the remote start sucks cause it shuts off at unlock. Cargo area is horrendous. I’m sure the turning radius is also not good like on the Tundra. Reliability means nothing if you hate what you’re having to drive every day. Ford or GM wins.

That stupid third-row seat in the Sequoia is an absolute deal-breaker for me, or I'd have to rip it out. I know Toyota says "you can't" but, well, I bet we can. All for a stupid battery I don't need or want.
@Aschoolbusandsimulatorfan2219
I gonna perfur both of these vehicles Ben.

The rear storage on the Sequoia is a huge miss. It’s almost unusable and the rear seat can’t be removed. This thing was rushed to production for sure

The lack of AWD or auto 4wd in many toyota is the reason i dont buy many. I live where it is part ice, part dry pavement 4 months of the year. I simply hit the auto 4wd on the ram or the Colorado at the 1st snow and never think about it until spring. No binding up going around corners like in my 4runner...etc.

I like both but leaning toward the ford, the back seat hump in the sequoia is a big No for me. Also an extra 1.5 inch clearance in the ford is huge off the lot. I had a 2015 f150 with 100k miles with the 3.5 v6 and I had no issues. The sequoia engine is in its infancy so no one knows how they will hold up but the new tundra is having a lot of issues

Just bought TRD pro 2024 and it’s a beast!!!! We are a family of four and it has plenty of space , I don’t get the whining about cargo space it has plenty!!!! Go get a bus like ford or Chevy and watch your value eat 💩!!! Sorry but haters of sequoia is because they haven’t driven it personally or can’t afford it!!!!

These are more like vehicles that are more for family trips rather than off roading . If you really want to go off road do it right get a jeep ,big bronco or as such and get a big lift with 33 or bigger tires and go all out

Ford way better. Sequoia lacks rear room, seats don’t fold flat, middle row won’t move, less trunk space. Wanted to get the sequoia platinum, so went and drive it and decided to go with timberline expedition.

I prefer the Timberline for the slight increase in ground clearance, way better cargo area and easier and more room getting into the 3rd row. On the road I prefered the way the Timberline road but the power was better in the Sequoia. Overall Ford needs a slight update on their platform, just some tweaks for 2024 cause it looks a little plain to me. I was disappointed in the Toyota cause one of our family members went there to really buy one and for the reasons mentioned above ended up walking away and bought the Chevy tahoe w 6.2, magnetic ride control, sport package RST package.

They ruined the Sequoia. Love my 2008 but the room is ass. The battery pack has your knees up to your chest. Feels cheap inside, you cannot adjust your back seat. And it drives with a lot of road noise and power isn’t enough, you’re always redlining it. Sad Toyota dropped the ball.
