Love your videos! A few suggestions - I know you laughed when I said you’ve got to come to Tijuana, but I’ll pitch it again. During the pandemic more Americans are moving down here to take advantage of San Diego weather and the city of San Diego with Tijuana rental prices. As a Mexican, you can cover this better than most people who come to the city. Coffee culture is big here and there’s good WiFi. Considering how well your Toledo video did, people are looking for unique places. Second, you’ve GOT to do Shorts. When I open up the RU-vid app, half the screen is devoted to shorts that RU-vid recommends, and I’ve found many new RU-vid channels to follow with creators that are doing shorts, that RU-vid is recommending due to the algorithm. You’ve got ton of content, you could probably farm it out to video editors to create shorts for you, or you can film with vertical and horizontal content in mind. And obviously you can push it out to tiktok, reels etc. Third, consider shorter videos to put up between your long form content. Roundups of different places you’ve visited in Mexico, US, Europe. RU-vidrs love lists. They might not be the creative cinematic content that you prefer, but obviously this helps grow the channel. Looking forward to 2023 👌🏾

Currently at a crossroads at life, I am trying to have a plan moving foward. I have many paths that I can follow, but after watching your videos, I think I will go down the digital nomad path for a couple of months...just to try. I am already living as an expat, but the feeling of beign tied to a place because of a rental contract gives this deeps anoyance. I do not want to go back home indefinetely, but I also don't want a house of my own...having to stay in just one place for at least a year. If I can afford, I'll definitely go the digital nomad lifestyle! Keep on bringing these awesome videos! You are an inspiration!

Just recently found your channel and I love your style of videos, they feel like an update of what life has been like for you :) I think seeing you try different “experiences” going to a museum / taking a class / finding something for videos in between would be nice as well as youtube shorts of little shops at your current location before you showcase your next!!

Sergio, hola! I am in Vietnam now - hope to cross paths with you again. Like you, I like places where I can hike and be in nature. For future content ideas - I'd love for you to go to more off-the-beaten path DN spots. Everyone knows about Bali, CM, Lisbon...but how about other hidden gems (for example, I lived in Tbsilsi, Georgia over the summer)? Love the format of how you show the local culture, cafe's, co-working spots, apts to rent, and maybe add in hiking spots. Thank you & g'luck for this year.

Love your stats about internet speeds in cafés and cowering spaces. What would i like to see? 1. Your equipment list: Cameras, drones, computers, etc 2. Mobile provider speeds from around the globe 3. Comparisons of coworking spaces around the globe: Speeds, prices, amenities, comfort, etc 4. Video setup: software, how you make scripts, plans 5. How you recover from the unexpected: losing backpack, phone, insurance, etc Thanks

So about topics to cover - I am a digital nomad myself slash a refugee as I am originally Ukrainian. Starting my digital nomad journey just before the war has started, who knows, might saved me the life. Yet, I do struggle like nobody else with things like bureaucracy - visas, storing money (you know the pain of paying in Mexico with European cards), stuff that I own, budgeting, challenging myself (as otherwise what is even all those trips about). You know, more personal stuff, romanticizing the real life struggles. That definitely will help you to build a loyal audience rather than transient visitors, who just were googling a walk tours.

I've been going through your content - your storytelling is so compelling, it's really inspired me to think about how I create my own. 2 things I'd like to see: 1. Discussing the compromises you might have to make to live as a digital nomad, and maybe how to limit them 2. How you approach learning the local language in each place you visit

I am a fan of the style & quality of your videos, which stands out beautifully from the noisy and gimmicky others. You obviously put in the time and the attention so I'assuming a daily vlog would look quite different but might help with growth and having more content for the other platforms. I love tech and travel gear so I would love to see a "what's in my backpack" type video as well, tho I'm not sure if that would be too risky to broadcast; maybe that's an idea for a paid subscription platform. Feliz año nuevo from Playa del Carmen.

I am more an occasional traveller and am unlikely to become a digital nomad though my industry means I could potentially. But I find the digital nomad movement an interesting one to follow anyhow, so your content is of wider interest than to soley digital nomads. As another comment mentioned some content broader than DN might allow you to broaden your audience, just an idea

Hey Sergio. I've watched you for a little over a year now. If I had to give advice it would be, cut your long form videos down a bit to 15-20 min. Maybe even about 12+/- and do at least 2 a week. Then, sprinkle in shorts throughout the week. I also think talking about the history of a location adds interest. Best of luck and I'll be watching.

Great video as always. :) It feels good to listen to “Madeira” as one of your possible next destinations eheheh Content idea. I really miss the Chris the Freelancer videos about the coworking spaces, cafés to work etc. Like “5 best working spaces in Chiang Mai”. When I started I saw all his videos and those were always my favourite,
@sergiosala
@sergiosala Год назад
Gotta see you in Madeira! Also the "5 things / spaces" is not my usual type of video, but could see if I can add them. Maybe in format of Shorts?
Год назад
@@sergiosala It doesn't need to be 5, but I love coworking and cafés tours so I know where I am going to work. It's one of the things nomads research more before traveling to one place. Just an idea :)

Some how-tos are probably not the worst idea: You increase your potential "market" (crowd) and for potential digital nomads it's often overwhelming when they would like to start becoming a nomad, so watching you doing some planning might actually help them to keep being interested into your channel, as the dream might actually become reality :) Good look to you for the new year and thanks for your inspirational content !
@om1gee
@om1gee Год назад
Some questions of an potential digital nomad might be: 1. How to choose the right destination depending on the time of the year? (with or against the "main season" suggestions for typical tourists, against the normal recommendations would be cheaper and a less touristic experience) 2. How to find good and well-priced accomodations and co-working spaces? (Is it normal that you can try new spaces a day or week or so before you have to pay a whole month?) 3. Would you suggest to start becoming a nomad "all in" (i.e. cancelling your flat/car/..) or do you think it's better to keep your flat and try working as a nomad for 2-8 weeks first, having the option to use the test as holiday and abort the test, going back to your flat?

If you want a boost in your views, try the Philippines, lol. In all seriousness, I've heard Cebu is quietly becoming a DN hub. As a whole, the country is full of friendly English-speaking locals. Like the rest of SEA, the weather is best between December and April. The cuisine gets a bad wrap from foreigners but there's some really good dishes that I think could have an international appeal if given a chance like chicken inasal, lumpiang sariwa, and bicol express. Like the rest of SEA, the weather is best between December and April, so IDK if you have your tropical dry season totally planned out already, but give it a look if you have time.

Hey, I actually more interested in seeing Latin America countries as a destination for the future videos and I think that could be much easier for you as you speak Spanish and blend up with locals well and also well, there are millions of videos on Thailand, Bali, USA, etc. How about Ecuador? I see its cheaper than Mexico, yet more safe, has a bit different the same warm weather. Or Brazil, or Uruguay. For me these countries seem to be wild to visit but after living for over a year in Mexico, I guess I am fine going to El Salvador now even. I think those destinations are underlooked and who knows, might be the next Costa Rica because the conditions are decent - cheap, warm, vibrant. Also: travelling is not just cute houses and food - digital nomadism overall is driven by high openness to the new experience I would like to know more about different sorts of retreats, as for example, ayahuasca retreats in Mexico or Peru, sapo toad medicine, oaxaca pueblos where the majority of population consume magic mushrooms You as Mexican definitely could show a lot of hidden gems, yet this is what every digital nomad probably thrive for - living the life to the fullest and explore different mind-blown yet not widely accepted as a norm things.
@sergiosala

I've done a bit of Latin America already.. I prefer to show Asia and Europe. But will do some of places like Peru starting 2024, there's a big reason why which I will tell later

I love your videos! Such good work 🤩 I personally go on RU-vid precisely for long-form content. Shorts feel unsubstantial 🙈 I'd be interested in visas as well: if a country has no specific digital nomad visa, can you enter as a tourist? Sergio, Love your content. It's obvious to everyone that you deserve more subscribers although most of us recognize that through the eyes of a nomad. The truth is that the nomad community is actually quite small. If the content caters more and more to this specific viewer base, you'll find it a long and arduous road ahead. Maybe it's worth personally assessing how many viewers of yours are subscribers vs new viewers? The subscribers I imagine are typically the average nomad and so in my opinion the objective would be is how to tailor that monthly post to your nomads while tailoring your content in between to a wider audience. Nomads will support you regardless and will certainly enjoy all your content, even if it means only one video that caters to us every month. And so what part of the content that you're so passionate about is tailored to a wider audience? A ton! The average traveler is looking for new locations, secret gems that only a well traveled nomad with more time would come across, and your perspective on where they should actually go instead of what they're travel agency or the cookie cut blog post provides. A solo traveler (not a nomad) can use all kinds of advice in terms of how to connect with people while traveling and i'm sure you know this topic very well. Just giving you ideas. That 100k subscriber mark may require that you diversify and tailor to a wider audience and that can still be done under the context of the content that you're passionate about, as a nomad.

From my perspective (as a 30-35 year old person) I would not be interested in daily content or "shorts", tik-toks, etc. I actually unsubscribe to channels which release shorts, as I would get the "new content" bubble when there is just a "RU-vid short" which I'm not interested in. This annoys me. But it could be much different for a younger audience, which likes to consume lots of daily social media. Maybe you can use other platforms (different from youtube) for that, but I've not much knowledge about social media growth.
@om1gee
@om1gee Год назад
just for me speaking: I would not be interested in a book or website content, my time is unfortunately too limited for much more content consumption ;-)

Slack digital communities are not great. Almost everyone you will meet from there will be a digital nomad dork and they stay in their own bubbles. If you want to make real friends and have fun stay in a hostel. There are hostels for different age groups if you know where to look. Also if you speak the language of a country get involved in their activities and meet locals. As for content we would like to see: Are digital nomads ruining places by rising the prices? Are they pushing out locals? Interview locals as well as normal non digital nomad travelers on vacation.
