My stress level was super high coming into this race. For starters, I crashed the day before on the final lap at the Arts District (see my channel for that video). After bandaging myself up for the day, I flatted twice on the way to Crybaby Hill from my hotel, and by the time I got to the course, I was at the back of the starting corral. To top it all off, my right shoe somehow unclipped at the very start of the race and let me tell you, I heard all about it from three of the riders (some of that is audible here). But my bad start turned around pretty quick as my adrenaline kicked in and I moved to the front and stayed there until the end of the race where I finished 2nd. Redemption. On a side note, I got enough points from this race to upgrade to Cat 2 which means I get to see how long I can hold on in the Masters A race next year.
