Scottie Scheffler caught fire on the final two holes of his round on Saturday at the U.S. Open. After an up-and-down round, Scheffler had a hole-out eagle from just under 200 yards on No. 17 and birdied No. 18 to move himself into prime contention for Sunday.

I had flashbacks to Tiger’s last 2 holes in the 3rd round in the 2008 US Open. It was awesome to watch yesterday.

If he just made that 75 yds short hole birdie putt + one par save putt , he would have been breathing down Wyndham neck.

Not impress with Scotties game. All over the place and can not make needed 10 footers for birdies

I honestly do not understand his golf swing. He does so many things normal people shouldn't do to have a good swing.

And yet he’s best in the world by far. It’s mental.

Scheffler's swing may look odd especially when he falls off balance, but he does have the right fundamentals. He sets up very close to the ball which results in his hands being much higher at address than others. His proximity from the ball promotes a much more vertical motion on the backswing rather than shallow like Rickie Fowler. His left hand grip is very weak so he doesn't have much wrist bend and has lots of extension after contact similar to Adam Scott. The feet moving is just a result of his proximity to the ball and him getting his arms out in front of his body. If you look closely on a lot of his swings you'll see his right foot almost slip or move back because there is simply isn't enough room for his arms to come through and strike the ball effectively without that foot moving backward.
