The 2023 Volkswagen Jetta is expected to retain the same available engines as the current model that’s on sale. The Jetta comes standard with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower. The sporty GLI trim comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 228 hp. The base engine is available with a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GLI comes with a six-speed manual transmission and is available with a seven-speed automatic transmission.
When it comes to safety features, the current Jetta comes standard with forwarding automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Available features include lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. These safety features should continue to be available for the 2023 Jetta. Starting for the 2023 model year, all Volkswagen vehicles, including the Jetta, will include IQ.DRIVE driver assistance technology, a hands-on semi-automated driving system.
