You were spot on specially with the plastic screws (you called them pins at minute 1.50), and I wish you would have demonstrated how to put the 24mm socket on it while it was installed in the car, or at least using the skid cover. Never the less, I left those two plastic screws for last so they would hold the plastic skid cover in place after I removed all the other torx screws. Then I position myself as closed to the plastic screws and I removed them as you would remove any screw (being made of plastic and not looking like a normal screw does throws you off). It took a while for each to unscrew completely but once they came out there was no need to remove anything else (that attaches to those plastic screws). In your video you see the whole assembly out for those plastic screws because you had to break them to figure out how they worked - and I thank you for figuring it out. Your video is super helpful. By the way, your 2023 VW Jetta oil change video fits perfectly my 2024 VW Jetta. Since I'm keeping the car I just did the first oil change at 500 miles. Also, I installed a Fumoto Valve instead of the oil pan plug so next time it will be a clean and fast oil change. I do that to all my vehicles and it's a world of difference. Unfortunately with this Jetta the oil filter will always be a little messy (since it goes horizontal) to remove but it's not a big deal, not as much as the engine oil is without the Fumoto valve. I do prefer the Fumoto valve (I went with this style, found on Amazon ASIN: B01HP5V092) and I also added a pressure/crush washer even though the install instructions do not ask for it) much more than the Valvomax. The Fumoto is more practical, faster, and you don't have to screw on/off anything. I also installed magnets on the oil filter, which I got on amazon (ASIN: B0BYZD29ZJ) and I always put them on all my vehicles too. Oh, and to remove the filter easily I always use a 75.6mm 14 Flutes Oil Filter Wrench (Amazon ASIN: B0BZM5YPYN, which is is a perfect fit for the OEM VW 04E115-561T oil filter, the one that comes installed in the vehicle from factory and also the one with the same serial number that you can buy at the dealer.) and you can use either a wrench or a socket to unscrew that filter. My oil filter was so tight that I think they put easily 100 ft-lbs of torque on it, but no problem with the tool I just mentioned. Don't forget to ONLY hand tighten the new oil filter. this is a certified hood classic

Hey man, I just bought a new 2024, exact same engine like yours, but I buy directly from the dealership, they gave me 0W20 and telling me that’s the oil I should be using (it’s green) 😢 But everywhere online it says 5w30 or 5w40 … , which one are you using now?
@kevincastillo1626

Mine was a little glittery on the first change too. Did it at 1700 kms. I put a magnetic drain plug in on the first change

I’ve got a 2014 jetta got it brand new did 10k oil change intervals cadtrol full synthetic extended performance 5w30 still runs like charm, gonna switch to 5w40 now as it has 170k miles on it and 5k intervals. Just got a 2023 as well I’m with ya gonna do an oil change early for break in but after that 10k intervals should do

No reaspn to change oil at 1000k Un necessary. Completely. Also. Ypu can safely change every 5 or even 7500 miles with 0 implications. With full synthetic oil. Wasting money otherwise

All motors have a break in period and after that break in period oil change should be done because of all the metal shavings off the break in of the motor and yes as I said oil changes should be done around 5k
@xbrizzcakez
@xbrizzcakez Месяц назад
I ve purchased 5 new cars over the years, never did a 1000 miles oil change per "break in" period. Never had any issues whatsoever. Still own a couple of them and they are at 15 and 20 years old, just bought a new Civic EX and will change oil at dealership in a few months with a free oil change service, when the 2 year free service is over I will probably change it at home twice a year or so...

This engine has been there for decades now😂 if it was recommended back then, it should be done today… Try change every 10K miles in NYC, your oil is gonna be like sponge
