The new T8 is only turbocharged now. Not twin charged. The engine uses the similar block and turbo as the older T8, without the supercharger. The B5 is only turbocharged. Twincharging now only exists on the B6 with an electronically driven supercharger.
Being safe on the road starts with the mindset. Having the latest and greatest safety gizmos don't mean squat if you drive like an idiot, don't use or even turn off these safety features becoz they annoy the driver that doesn't know how or want to use:- * blinkers and mirrors. * ACC becoz don't want to maintain distance or just love to tailgate * Common sense, because ini jalan mak bapak aku punya kaannnn... Ultimately we/they can change a great many things to make cars safer except for the nut behind the wheel.
Nice, sensible, informative and honest review . I as family man was considering this XC90 long time ago and now I think of getting one considering the vast improvements. I will opt out buying any X5 and Q7 for now heard that they are very problematic and many engine parts are made from plastic parts that are not durable at all.
@Sid Acidic Thanks but I prefer xc90 more than X5. Being more family centric and practically safer . Overall design and look is more elegance rather than fierce look ( not a fan at all )
A friend of mine bought the X5 and it broke down after a month. The dealer gave him a replacement car which is the BMW IX while waiting for them to repair his X5. I am an XC90 owner and a big fan of the IX. I was given a chance to test drive the IX by my friend. I really enjoyed the driving and the handling. What I didnt like, the material used in the XC90 seems to be more premium compare to the IX. Yes the interior of the IX is futuristic but the material used compare to the XC90, the XC90 felt more luxury (the woodtrim, the soft touch panel, etc). The Bowers & Wilkins in the XC90 will definitely amazed any audiophile compare to the Harman Kardon in the IX. I hope BMW step up on their material design in the next gen IX.
Questions to those who owned XC90: does the air cond cool down the cabin very quick? (due to the sunroof that could "boil" the cabin) And does the (3rd row) air cond actually have air coming out of the vent?? (that can feel wind blowing)
I am very concerned of the hybrid battery. Especially when the second hand price drops below 200k mark, and the warranty has ended. I know the battery used modular design, so don’t have to change the battery all at once, but still, that’s something people would consider to buy PHEV car, at least the used unit for me lah.
modular design means nothing because the labour cost involved to change each module is not affordable at all. You would rather just change all the modules with the cost involved
this is an old car now...2015 architecture if I'm not mistaken..yes still looks fresh but the game has moved on...also,its reliability is kinda questionable if you hunt them in the forums....specially those in the US...
@Raymond Ang it takes practice. Don’t fold the seats. Fold the top portion down, half way down, and push it forward or backwards. If you lift it up from the rail, it is meant to fold the seats down. You need to set the seat down before sliding it again. Where is the sales advisor? Ask them to show you.
