Awhile back, I was doing a livestream with Mr. Beat (that's BEAT, not Beast) and I asked him who his favorite small, up-and-coming history RU-vidr was. His answer was... Catherine Warr.
..Hi Catherine. I really love your channel and all the fascinating information you provide, You are one of my main sources for historical data. I could watch you forever....x
Always good to reflect on how far you've come over the past year, where you have put in a lot of hard work! I know sometimes it can be difficult when you're pursuing your passion and doubt can set in due to uncertainty, something I've often faced myself in my own work. But keep believing in yourself, you've grown a lot over these past few years & you will continue to grow as you've connected to so many by sharing your enthusiasm for history. The character and personal touch put in your videos is what hooked me the first time I came across your videos 2 (almost 3) years ago & is what keeps bringing me back every time.
For 2024 can you do a Civil War comes to Bradford in 1600's ......Billy Bishop was your Diamond for 2023 great story ,lovely set....Thanks n have a rite gud Yorkshire Christmas
As a Yorkshireman myself I have been a fan of Yorkshire military and family history for a long time(also reinactment, love the costumes), don't be too hard on yourself . You have a passion for such things and it shows. You have changed your style, nothing more, I watched your later stuff first and then the earlier.
A'reyt Catherine. I was looking for a Yorkshire equivalent of a Scottish history channel, being from there, and found your videos. I am no flat cap wearing zealot, but there are as many Yorkshire folk as Scots and our history can get overlooked in favour of things happening to royals and politics in London. I subscribed and tried recommending your videos in comments elsewhere. I noticed you changed to more arty and less local videos and subscribers were not increasing. To me, you were the potential star, just from your enthusiasm and the subject matter and sets were out there to be gobbled up, not needing effort to look am-dram. I hope the difficulties make for a learning opportunity. Perhaps get feedback on rough drawings of proposed ideas, like a real film studio? The aircraft videos were using popular topics and backdrops that you could get at without all the set design. Much as I loved what you made for sets, I could imagine from it what was holding you back. Keep trying! Happy Xmas and New Year to you and all reading this. I really do wish you get a break to the big time for taking the risk to follow your dream.
