The trp brakes are one of the best hybrid brakes. I ride them on my road bike too. My steel road bike weight 14kg and i have no problem on climbing

I have the Microshift version and it is fine enough for me as a commuter and weekend warrior. I have had some issues with the rear break (cable needed replaced after roughly 2,000 miles), but otherwise it's pretty decent. I would also recommend replacing the chain immediately for something more sturdy as it was eating into the drive chain/rear cassette.

Own it and outgrew it quickly. Even though I am in my fifties, at this point, I still prefer a bike with a lower stack (still flexible). Its really not for fast rides but more endurance (long) rides. Agree the tires and wheels it comes with are best upgraded to some lighter wheels and tires (better rolling, tubeless).

@@MadMaxProductions-sx4hu yes but you have to be flexible enough and have the core strength to be able to sustain a lower position. The default position of the 520 is great for beginners

@@MadMaxProductions-sx4hu My advice to anyone starting cycling would be, comfort gives you power, power gives you speed. Unless you are young and want to get into road racing, get a bike that fits you and feels comfortable to ride, preferably with a relaxed geometry like this bike. The rest is marketing.
