Mark is 100% correct here. Smoothie is more "experimental" considering it's a Dream song and not a 127 song. Having Unknown still gives that refreshing youthful and hopeful tone. Not to mention Dream's audience (for the most part) consists of a lot of people who are going through life with uncertainty and unease as they grow older. Having Smoothie is like "it's okay to try new things and take a chance" and then Unknown is like "but it's okay if you're afraid to do those things you got this keep your head up" and that's always what Dream has been about. Mark knows his audience and understands Dream's concept perfectly. Leader indeed

The way Haechan and jaemin are “shown” to fans as crazy or like a laughing stock but in reality them being the most matured and always putting aside their personal opinions and work as a team and come together as a team is sooo freaking cool!!!

as a marketing major, haechan is extremely smart and knows that kpop is popping off rn due to virality. he knows that we have short attention spans, and the way to hook viewers is through challenges and snippets. i love mark for pushing for their authenticity and identity, however, i can’t help but look at it at a business point of view and i have to agree with haechan bc carat cake and box are popping off rn, especially on tiktok. either way, you boys did well and we love all of the new songs!

if i were sm, i’d give everything to mark on a golden platter. his dedication is not a one-time thing, his attitude is admirable. he didn’t laugh or mock, he professionally stood on his ground. you could tell the difference. he deserves so much better 🫂

i'm not even a big nct dream fan or anything, i have some songs of theirs that i like and i just stumbled across this video somehow but i want to say mark really got a lot of respect from me for this. he went into this knowing what the best option was and was able to succeed in convincing the majority but the most important part to me is how he's focused more on the quality of the music that reflects their career up until now than what would make a few seconds of the song go viral or the performance, which is already more of a important factor for the title song. i really respect that a lot, as someone who values music quality over trendiness and who knows how nowadays many groups don't care about the quality and are more drawn to making something go viral, and i really love how he did not waver at all and his beliefs and trust towards his music is so strong. i just listened to unknown and it's a great song, i'm 100% with him (and now i'm gonna go play the song multiple more times)

언노운한거 진짜 잘 한 선택임. 당장에 멜론 댓들 들어가보면 스무디 말고 언노운이 미니의 타이틀이었어야 이 앨범의 마무리가 완벽했었다라는 반응부터 일단 팬들도 언노운을 가장 좋아함. 숨을 커플곡으로 했으면 캔디때 졸업과 너무 겹치고 박스를 택했다면 디기리와 겹쳤겠지. 언노운같은 커플곡 단 한번도 없었음.

Haechan asking each one of the members what song they like at the beginning of the video, waiting for everyone to share their opinions before sharing his, and explaining clearly his perspective are all so admirable of him. He even consider Breathing and Box because these songs are suggested by others despite Carat Cake being his personal choice. When he was conflicted with the performance for Unknown, he specifically asked how they would interpret it. Even made the others laugh (esp CL and JM) along the way and even had fun vibing around with RJ. When JS had a thought he listened and explained to him camly how people watch shows nowadays. In turn, JS agreed with him. I love also how Haechan carries himself with so much knowledge and confidence. People see it as something bad goodness, we need more people like him who are straightforward and goal-driven. And no, it doesn't make him shallow that he's after trends/virality of the song. He is so sure of Dream's abilities and wants to introduce the group to a larger audience. His target is the general public. That doesn't make him less of a person or a dream member just because he didn't pick a "dream-coded" song. He just had a different perspective and again, he's so smart for that. At the very end, he offered a truce with that "give up" statements and wants them all to vote and accept the results. I think carat cake honestly would have been such a nice contrast to smoothie. I agree it had a better chance at bringing non fans in to check out the dreamies, and it would have appealed to a wider audience. If you’re thinking strategically about the current K-pop market, carat cake makes sense as the b side to promote. Unknown is great for sure, but after seeing the stage today it was a bit lackluster.

Fans win; general audience looses. Dream won’t go as viral. It’s not a bad thing, but it’s not a great thing either. 난 이제 드림이 대중성도 잡고가야한다고 봄.. 좋은 노래가 살아남듯이 결국 '많이 듣는' 싸움임 퍼포먼스, 강렬한 임팩트, 비트, 다 중요하겠지만 그것에 너무 중심을 두다보니 맛, 버퍼링, istj, 스무디 다 비슷한 결처럼 느껴짐... 물론 드림 너무 열심히 노력하는 거 알지만 대중성 좀만 더 있었다면 좋을텐데 하는 아쉬움이 항상 드는 건 어쩔수가 없다ㅜ

I guess it will be okay if the others who had an argument with Mark but if it's Haechan to anyone, they freaking blame him with BAD ATTITUDE so bad how he acted to his members. I thought this so called 7 Dream fans know 7 Dream mmbrs that great.. but they really blamed my boy who gave an amazing idea.. it's normal if our idea doesn't bring to the final if we do discussion.. it's not only here . Even at our workplace we need to argue with our boss if we had a great idea. You guys really don't know how to appreciate a great mmbr in your group just you wanna praise the one who is a leader. At least give a good word for Haechan for giving such a great idea even if you want to hype the leader. But it's you guys who do not respect Haechan actually.

After i watched unknown performance I really glad that Mark fight for unknown. Mark lee is such a vision and great leader.

그럼에도 불구하고 아이덴티티를 이어가고자 한 마크의 설득은 너무 똑똑하고 섬세하다고 느껴짐... 이번 타이틀 너무너무 좋고 신선한데 그만큼 정말 낯설기도 함. 새로운 시도는 기존의 색깔이 사라질 것을 우려하는 사람들이 늘 있는 법이고 어찌 보면 팀의 아이덴티티가 흐려질 수도 있음. 마크는 이런 우려를 해소시키기 위한 영리한 선택을 한 거고~~!! 마크야 언노운 사랑해줘서 고마워요♡

마크 의견이 너무 좋다.. 분명 타이틀이 주는 느낌이나 앨범의 컨셉을 이어가는 것도 중요하지만 결국 오래가는건 팀의 정체성이라 생각해서.. 마크가 가장 대중이나 팬이 생각하는 드림의 이미지를 잘 파악하고 있는 거 같음
