Although my birds did ok for the first two races, none of my 2023 top YBs performed well. Today's top two birds are one 2023 bird that did not race in 2023 YB season and one 2022 bird that had never been raced before(she's the mom of my 2023 club ace pigeon). Ironically, my ace pigeon performed poorly for the first two races scoring 22nd and 21st in the OB team respectively for the two races. This is my very first OB season and I'm still figuring out a more efficient and effective way of racing OBs. I'm open to your suggestions based on your experiences. Thanks!
Nice Job Lawrence.. Birds are coming back good, they just need to learn how to get down faster and clock in. Alot of wasted time sitting on the roof of the house. And yes, be careful sending hens who are somewhat paired up still or looking like they want a nest bowl. You don't want to send a hen who's about to lay or is developing eggs in her system.. Good luck in tomorrows 200 miler. The slight wind will be favoring the middle and north enders this week for once it appears..
Great job Lawrence, you did very well in both races. I can tell how excited you were getting your birds to trap 😂One of my worst young birds in 2021 was South Section Champion Bird in 2022 OB'S, go figure. This year I decided to put in my two 2021 South Section Champion Birds (had the same points) in OB'S for the 1st time but they're not wowing me! OB'S is a different monster.
Thanks buddy! Yeah, I’m always very excited when I see my birds popping up in the sky😄. That’s the charm of the sport. Definitely I need to figure out the OB game. I hope my top 2023 birds will get in the groove as the season progresses.
😂Thanks Jason! I love the sport and I love the animals in general. I have a lot of YBs to train and cannot wait for the YB season to start. In the meantime, I need to figure out OB racing. It's a different game.
@@blancloft Yes it is for sure. I haven't had time to give it much attention my 1st 3 years racing OB. I only raced about 6 birds natural and never did anything with them. I moved this year so I skipped OB and will try again next year racing hens only like Frank McLaughlin recommends and see how that goes.
