Me too, Rebecca. I also have the similar situation. I started to follow Ms Long’s performances at the time she was in the competition, and when I returned to Hong Kong for vacation in last February. I have been watching Ms Long’s videos, whether they were in the past, contemporary or the most up-to-date for 16 months now. Literally I missed her busking at Choi Street in 2018. What a shame, it was just a few stone’s throw away. If you don’t mind, I would like to quote as below the comments I responded to a netizen who commented on Ms Long’s English songs 8 months ago. However, if you think this is boring, please just ignore it. Thanks. Quote You are right, and I have no doubt that you have an in-depth understanding on Ms Long’s singing business. As I mentioned before, I only started researching and watching Ms Long’s videos eight months ago in the wake of Ms Long’s participation in the TV singing contest when I returned to Hong Kong to see relatives. I really had no idea that Ms Long did sing English song before, nor on whole her terrific performances in the past. Actually I had heard of a famous female busker named Mongkok Siu Lung Lui performing at Sai Yeung Choi Street when I was still in Hong Kong a few years ago. I did not pursue further as I was a western music/pop songs addict, and even once on a Sunday afternoon when I passed by Sai Yeung Choi Street with friends and saw a large group of people watching Ms Long doing busking. I did not crowd in to see her performance as she was surrounded by a big sea of people. What a shame, I just missed the fortune of watching her singing in an early stage. It just reminded me of Ms Long when she was engaged in the singing competition and received rave reviews from the public at the time I was having a vacation in Hong Kong ten months ago. After leaving Hong Kong and in the past six months, I have kept on checking Miss Long's past performances as well as the information and interviews associated with Ms Lung on RU-vid. Like many others, I have also been attracted by her voice, singing techniques, grace and inspirational stories. No wonder she is loved and supported by so many fans. Now get straight to the point, as guided, I have watched the video of Ms Long’s Scarborough Fair, the only Long’s English song as what the video shooter stated. My opinion is that this is not difficult to understand, because Ms Lung has always been singing Chinese songs, no matter they are the Mandarin songs or the Cantonese, and in spite of the fact that, that was her first English ballad. This is similar to that of those big local singers. Under the premise of the environment in Hong Kong, the strength of these big singers is always to sing Chinese songs to cater to the market. It is hard and rare for an amphibious singer to appear. Anyhow, I agree that she is somewhat in lack of the experience in mastering the English songs. My suggestion is that if Ms Long takes singing English songs further into consideration, she may think of approaching some English songs instructors for guidance and also watching more videos of the songs from the good singers, like Whitney Houston, Adele, Diana Ross, Stevie Nicks, ONJ, Cindy Lauper, Linda Ronstadt, Petula Clark…….and many more. Perhaps songs from Karen Carpenter, Barbara Streisand are more suitable for Long’s style which is soft and elegant. This may improve her articulation in singing English songs too. That’s only my suggestion or do you have yours to offer Ms Lung? Unquote Thanks.
@@juliocheung484i think she has a lot on her plate at the moment. It's not easy for her cos she does not know how to read notes. For every new song, she has to go over it again and again. For me, i support her not only because of her singing ability but also her personality, hardwork, determination and she still rides the MRT😅😅😅
@@peterman2330 That’s why I could not locate the song which was sung by Ms Lung just in one of her live broadcasts. There happened a fan also recommended me to listen to this song last year, but I could not find it in RU-vid. Please, if possible tell me the date of the live broadcast that contained the song, I will always love you. Anyway, thank you, Peter.
@@-Rebecca118 Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing your impression of Ms Long as well as the things that I didn’t know. I respect Ms Long in every respect, and I will respect her decision to sing whatever the songs she would like. I hope I can meet her on MTR in my next HK trip but the chance is slim, I know, as there are so many lines running across the island, the peninsula and the NT now. 😸 Perhaps by chance Ms Long holds her concert when my HK trip takes place, I will go and see her demeanour. I will treat it a serendipity and for sure this time I will grab the chance which I missed six years ago, so close, yet so far!
